Amy Hopkins is a published speculative fiction author.

She is from Queensland, Australia, where she lives to this day with her family, which consists of her husband, their two kids, a dog, four chickens and a ton of books to boot. She can often be found spending her time hiding in a hammock on the deck, with a book in one hand and Cadbury’s in her other.

She says that if she could do just one thing so that she could change the world, it would be to use her powers to make sure that every child in the world has access to a comprehensive library of great books all through their life.

She has written several books in the speculative fiction genre, all of them with big themes and coming along to bring the reader a story with plenty of heart. She is an autistic and an ADHD adult and also has a great passion for promoting positive representation of neuro-diversity in literature that she tries to bring to her own works.

On top of her own writing, Amy also practices coaching and offers coaching sessions and support to other creatives who are neuro-divergent. She likes to use time spent to help others recognize the strengths that they have, while also working to assist them in bringing their own unique projects to life.

When Amy is not busy working on her own personal stories, she likes to spend some quality time with her loved ones. Her family includes her husband, their two children, a fluffy dog that they all love called Peanut, and their sheep. She also has other hobbies besides writing, which involves sewing unique costumes, collecting sewing machines, and attempting to cook dinner (and sometimes burning it).

Dream Stalker is the first book in the Talented series of novels by Amy Hopkins. If you have been looking for an enchanting new fantasy story to add to your list, consider this story and see what you think!

Main character Emma was a sweet young girl who just wanted to be able to sell her enchanted teas with a level of peace. In place of it, she is being caught up in a chase for a killer who is stalking all across the streets of London.

The killer is specific about what he’s going after. He is making his way for half-bloods, the type of people who are out there with limited magical ability. The same type of person that she is. Emma is half-blood too, and as a result is more than a little concerned about the deranged maniac out there who is targeting people just like her.

They’ve taken things to the police, who are confused by the series of deaths. However, they find themselves unwilling to put in the real work in order to make an arrest. It appears that this is one of those cases where people who use magic can look out for themselves. The only issue with this is that the ones who carry real power do not care all that much about half-bloods.

When Emma wakes up from an odd dream that almost gets her killed in the waking world, she understands that she is going to have to contend with it herself. With just the boggart shop assistant and two men who have offered to help out, will Emma be able to defeat the killer, thereby helping out to make this city safe once more? Read this book to find out!

Barrow Fiend is the second book in the Talented series of novels by Amy Hopkins. If you liked the first book in this series, keep things going with the sequel.

DCI Greyson is approaching Emma to ask her to help out with a case, and Emma for a moment doesn’t even know what to say. The first instinct that comes to mind is to turn her down and just say no. She is still shaken up by the attack on her own life that had happened six months previously. Balancing out her friendships with a relationship that is just getting started, she would like to stay away from the danger as much as possible.

When circumstances mean that her hand is forced, Emma decides that it’s time for herself to become part of the investigation. She starts to figure out that the target she is after is not some strange creature, but instead a dangerous man who doesn’t have a care for human life. Will Emma be able to make it through one of the largest risks that she has ever taken on, or is she going to have to give up too much in order to do it? Read this fantasy novel to find out!
