Main character Ro Krishna is the son of Indian parents and an American himself. His parents always gave him the very best that life has to offer. He not only received an education at the best institutions, he has also found himself being at home in the fanciest clubs in London or on the squash court.
He finds out that he is without an anchor after his high profile job decides that he needs to go. The circumstances around this are strange but he cannot do anything about it. Ro has to deal with his situation and decides that it is time to go after some necessary rest and relaxation at Samsara.
Samsara is a wonderful spa that caters to the whims and the needs of the cosmopolitan elite of the world. Tucked into the foothills of the Indian Himalayas, this is a place that is full of luxury and the type of place where you could see yourself being spiritually reborn, even if you had tons of money.
Even though this is a place of potential rebirth, it could also be a place where people die. After all, Samsara is a word in Sanskrit that refers to the cycle of death and rebirth. It appears that the cast of people that Ro ends up meeting could end up having a murderer among their number.
These include an American film star getting ready to debut his crossover into Bollywood, a misanthropic politician, a gorgeous heiress in line for the family’s jewel fortune, and a white yogi who is apparently there to instruct others on meditation. Little does Ro know that one of them is a killer, or even more than one of them.
He and everyone else start to find out that there is in fact a murderer among them when the death toll starts going up. Either there’s a serial killer out there or there is more than one killer. Ro has been trained to be a lawyer but now he is a sleuth by necessity.
Soon he starts to become more involved in a world that seems nice at first but is utterly vicious under the surface. Nothing there may be what it appears to be, including Ro. Who will be revealed as the killer and will they face justice? Find out by getting a copy of Death in the Air and following along with this mystery to the end!
