Elizabeth Buchan is a British published author.

She attended the University of Kent at Canterbury, graduating with her double degree in history and English. Upon graduating, she started out as a blurb writer at Penguin Books. She would then go on to be a fiction editor at Random House, then ended up leaving so that she could write full time.

The books that she has written include Consider the Lily, which was a prizewinner and reviewed in the Independent as a ‘gorgeously well written tale’. It won the 1994 Novel of the Year Award from the Romantic Novelists’ Association. She was also elected the 18th Chairman of the Romantic Novelists’ Association, serving from 1995-1997.

Her novel to follow it up Revenge of the Middle-Aged Woman did very well. It was an international bestseller and then was adapted into a CBS Primetime Drama. She received many letters about it and recounts that people would come up to her to tell her how much it affected them. Novels that came along later extended to The Second Wife, Separate Beds and Daughters, as well as I Can’t Begin to Tell You.

Her short stories have been broadcast to audiences over BBC Radio 4 and have been released in magazines. She does reviews for the Sunday Times and the Daily Mail. She has also chaired the Betty Trask and Desmond Elliot literary prizes and has been a judge for the Whitbread First Novel Award and the 2014 Costa Novel award. Buchan serves as a patron of the Guildford Book Festival and the National Academy of Writing. She also is on the author committee for The Reading Agency.

When she was younger, Elizabeth moved her home every three years. She would live for brief moments of time in Egypt and Nigeria, moving on to Guildford, York, and Edinburgh.

She is married and has two children with her spouse. She did all of this before becoming a fiction editor at Random House and then leaving so that she can write full time. Writing on a full time basis was always the plan, ever since she was a child. She would often be caught reading under the covers with a light after going to bed, something that gave reading a subversive element.

It may not have been an easy choice to take this leap, but she never ended up regretting it. She has traveled all over the world as a writer. One of the best things about this book tour was meeting readers of different ages and being able to share with them the passion for books and reading. She stays in touch with many of them online.

Revenge of the Middle-Aged Woman is the first book in the Two Mrs. Lloyd series by Elizabeth Buchan. If you have been looking for something fun to read, why not read the book that so many others have enjoyed and recommended to their friends and check out the debut in this series!

Readers should buckle up and get ready to cheer on main character Rose Lloyd. She is a woman who is in her younger middle age years and is showing everyone that beginning over again doesn’t have to have an age limit. She spent 25 years of her life trying to balance career, husband, and kids with a good amount of success and now is finding that despite all of this her career and her marriage are in a state of ruin that could not be predicted before this.

Having no other choice than to start a new life, Rose is scared at first but then finds that she is quickly getting energized by the new freedom that she has found. It is incredible what a little reflection, weight loss, and a new take on independence paired with some brand new Parisian lingerie can do for your mentality about yourself.

Intelligent, insightful, and guaranteed to emotionally resonate with yourself on some level, this story is the type to hit a chord with any person who has wondered to themselves what being in middle age might look like from the other side of the looking glass. The answer may surprise you in a pleasant way! Grab a copy of this book to find out everything that happens and go along on the journey along with Rose.

The Second Wife is the second book in the Two Mrs. Lloyd series by Elizabeth Buchan. There is nothing better than revenge, except for sometimes when more revenge comes along. If you thought that the first book in this series was interesting, show up for the sequel and find out what else is in store after Revenge of the Middle-Aged Woman!

Sometimes there are wives, and sometimes there are mistresses. But what happens when the two of them combine and the mistress ends up becoming the wife? So many things can happen at the end of the day.

Minty Lloyd is a lady who has just what she has always wanted in life. She has her beloved Nathan and she has their twin boys together. Despite all of this, she finds herself haunted by the new life of Rose, the one who came before her.

When an unforeseen event makes the rivals look for a way to renegotiate their relationship, it ends up making them look at everything that they have and wonder whether it’s what they really want. Written in the author’s signature voice, this is a wonderful story that pairs women up against each other with some concluding results that just might surprise you. Grab a copy of The Second Wife and take an intimate peek into the lives of these women, courtesy of Elizabeth Buchan!
