200 Monas is a 2026 book by Jan Saenz. If you like people such as Miranda July or Phoebe Waller-Bridge, this is an incredibly smart novel that is tough to put down. It’s all about a college senior who is finding that she has just forty-eight hours available to her so that she can sell the rare pills that her mother had stashed away before she passed. If she can’t sell them, she’ll have to deal with the consequences.
Main character Arvy Keening is a girl who is just trying to do what she can to try and get through this week. She’s very close to leaving her college years behind, having spent years at Westheimer University. The only thing left to do is to take her finals, pack up her life, and go to San Francisco to take a huge Big Pharma internship.
The only issue with all of this is that Arvy has just discovered two hundred hits of molly in the closet of her dead mother. Then two drug dealers come around so that they can get what they are owed and they find out that the pills are not Molly. They’re something called Mona, a rare pharmaceutical that has the ability to cause strong orgasms.
The dealers decide that they’re going to give Arvy an ultimatum. Her goal is to sell two hundred Monas in the course of forty-eight hours or instead simply die. This seems like a tough quest but Arvy is going to have to take it on if she really wants to make it through all of this. To do so, she gets the help of Wolf. Wolf is the resident drug dealer and also is very charming and sexy.
Arvy and Wolf are working against the clock and making their way through their college town while also leaving random erotic misadventures behind them since there are a lot of people who want what Mona can do. Whether they’re horny co-eds, lonely people at the bar, or the strange sorority where the sisters apparently want to use Mona for their own devices.
If Mona is able to help others unleash visceral body reactions, what is it going to do when it comes to Arvy? She’s been repressing the grief that she’s been feeling about the death of her mother for weeks. Can she withstand being dosed on this strange drug or is she about to find out that she is in for a wilder ride than she initially anticipated?
Unique and fun, dramatic, bold, brash and engaging, 200 Monas is the type of book that unfolds so easily that sometimes it feels like you’re watching a movie. Will Arvy be able to make it through this whole ordeal and come out on the other side? Read this book from Jan Saenz to find out how it ends!
