Sophie Moss is an American published author. Her books have helped to make her a USA Today bestselling author.
She is known for writing magical Irish romance stories as well as love stories that will warm your heart that are usually set in small communities that are very close, and sometimes set on the Chesapeake Bay. Sophie likes to write the type of characters that she would want to be friends with in real life. She is drawn to peaceful island settings but mostly loves to write places that will feel like home to her and the readers (and the characters who live there).
Sophie is known for her Wind Chime fictional series and her Seal Island fictional series. The first series takes place on a fictionalized island that the author says is loosely based on Maryland’s Tilghman Island. She feels lucky to be able to share the traditions and culture of this place through her stories. Meanwhile, the Seal Island books are set on another island, also fictional, which Moss says is again loosely based on Inishbofin in Ireland. Sophie recounts that she visited the island while studying abroad in Galway and fell in love with it first sight. She says that every time she gets to go back there in her imagination, she falls in love again.
Sophie grew up in Maryland in a small coastal town, very similar to the one that is featured in her Wind Chime series. She says that she’s always been drawn to island settings while reading books and when writing them. Sophie recounts that there is something that is so soothing about being surrounded by that water and likes that the pace of life is slower, neighbors look out for one another, and people know everything about everyone. She says that places like this help to bring her comfort and hopes that readers will experience the same.
Sophie is married and resides now in the Pacific Northwest with her husband. He is a retired Navy pilot who thinks that she manifested him in one of her books.
Wind Chime Café is the first book in the Wind Chime series by Sophie Moss. There are some books out there that are the perfect beach read and are set in such nice weather that you won’t mind reading them any time of the year, whether you’re laying out on a beach towel or just hanging out at home. Romance fans, don’t hesitate to check out this story!
Annie Malone is a single mother who takes a big leap of faith in her life and buys a café set on Heron Island. It seems like the perfect risk to take since she has always wanted to open up her own little eatery or restaurant. For once, she’s investing in herself and her own dreams.
Annie’s also excited because she’s heard rumors about that a developer is on the verge of building a five star resort on the Chesapeake Bay island. With a little elbow grease and hard work, Annie comes up with plans to completely change the café into a bistro, one that is completely upscale and premier in every way. It sounds relatively straight forward, but Annie has no idea that her life is about to get more complicated than she could have ever anticipated.
Will Dozier is a Navy SEAL and he’s come back to Heron Island for the first time in about a decade. He is the owner of his grandparents’ property and doesn’t want to sell it off to some developer. He’s trying to do the work to renovate the home and find another buyer at the same time, but as he does so, he starts to come around to the reality that he is struggling with PTSD.
Will wants nothing more than to hide the things that he’s going through from the other people on the island and is putting on a bold front. He decides that having a fling with the new girl he’s seen is the best way that he can try to take his mind off of things while also trying to get his head straight.
It might be selfish, but once Will starts spending time with Annie, he realizes that he really is falling for her. He’s also coming around to his hometown more than ever. Despite this, his life and his job are with the SEALs in San Diego.
Will never thought that he would be in this situation, but it’s one that he seems to have brought upon himself. He could stay, but is his love for Annie and the island going to be enough to convince him to take that leap? Read this fun romance to find out!
Wind Chime Wedding is the second book in the Wind Chime series by Sophie Moss. If you thought that the first romance in this series was good, keep things going with this engaging sequel!
Becca Haddaway is a second grade teacher and she is about to get married. She is just weeks away from making things official with her high school sweetheart when she finds out that Heron Island Elementary School is going to be shut down.
She knows that losing the school would have a huge impact on the island community and knows what she has to do. She puts her wedding plans to the side so that she can save it. But she’s going to need some help from the people around her. Unfortunately, the one guy that could actually help her out wants to make her question all of her decisions– including choosing to get married.
Colin Foley is a former Navy SEAL and he’s just starting to feel like he’s gotten himself back together after having lost a leg on a deployment in Afghanistan that ended his career. He struggled for months to try and figure out what he was going to do with his life after the military and now he’s found a new mission.
Colin’s goal is to open a rehab center meant for wounded veterans on Chesapeake Bay island. He just needs a new lady to share his time with, and he has someone in mind. But can he get Becca to see how much he cares about her before she walks down the aisle? Read this book to find out!
