She is a Carolina girl at heart. She resides in Charlotte, North Carolina but is fantasizing about splitting her time between Charleston and Asheville.
I Wish I Knew Then is the first book in the Harbour Village series by Jessica Peterson. If you have been searching for the perfect light romance to whisk you away into a summer full of sparks flying and go on a vacation in your mind, this is a great book for that.
Lu has always had a grandmother who warned her that what was done in the dark would always come to the light, and this was especially true for small towns who were even more likely to hide big secrets. Lu was hiding the hugest secret at the time, and it involved love.
When she was younger, she spent every summer at her grandparents’ coastal estate. Each time it would be the same, the same old chaos and the same cousins to run around and play with. They’d take long golf cart rides on the beach and just hang out. However, it all changed up the summer that she turned eighteen years old when her grandparents’ housekeeper moved in with her son in tow, Riley.
Riley was handsome and had a big personality, and was destined to be the local heartthrob of the area. Once they laid eyes on each other, it was all over. The two of them fell for each other in an instant. Riley was the first everything for Lu, the first love and the first time and then the first big heartbreak of her life when the end of the summer rolled around at last and he dumped her.
A decade down the line, Lu has moved on. But she’s returned to the island to attend her best friend’s wedding as the maid of honor. Who of course should she stumble into but Riley Dixon. It turns out that he is the best man to the groom and now he’s apparently a self made billionaire. Considering everything, Lu isn’t surprised by this at all.
They have to spend the entire week with each other for various wedding related duties and parties but this quickly turns into hot sex between the two of them and sneaking out to be together late at night. But it turns out that Riley has evolved into his own man and she has to meet him all over again, and the hate/love between the two of them starts turning into something else.
Lu starts to wonder if Riley has some secrets of his own. Are their secrets and who they have become compatible, or are they about to find out that there was a reason that they broke up all those years ago? Find out by getting your hands on a copy of this small town stand alone romance to find out what happens between these two!
I Wish You Were Mine is the second book in the Harbour Village series by Jessica Peterson. If you liked the first book in this series, then be sure to check out the sequel and catch up on some more steamy passion. This is actually a standalone romance even though it’s the second in the series, so you don’t technically need to have read the first in order to enjoy this story which features a single father, a nanny, and maybe even an accidental pregnancy.
Can Tuck and Maren find their own happily ever after story? Maren knew that Tuck Monroe was going to be a problem from the second that she shows up to her interview. She’s there to hopefully get a nanny position, but the man that she would be working for is impossibly hot. He’s six foot four inches and has tattoos all over him and might just be the most handsome man that she’s ever seen.
While he seems a little grumpy initially, Maren is willing to look that over because she really needs the job to pay for her living expenses and school. She takes the position as the live in caretaker of his daughter and moves into the living quarters for the job, a modest apartment located above his garage.
Maren quickly finds that she really likes this job and she enjoys working with Katie, his four year old daughter who is absolutely adorable. Even though she told herself not to go there, Maren didn’t really think that she would ever end up falling for her new boss. He’s a decade older than she is and it seems like a pretty big age gap– although one she is sure she could manage to get over.
It turns out that the more that she gets to know him the more she sees how sweet Tuck is beneath that tough outside exterior. The small talk that gets started between the two of them ends up turning into in depth conversations at night that Maren loves.
It appears that he can feel the tension between the two of them as well. The sexual friction between the two of them climaxes in a deep kiss and they eventually give themselves one night to explore the attraction that exists between them. Maren has the best sex she’s ever had but Tuck is gone when she wakes up.
She thinks that things are on the verge of going back to normal when she feels nauseous. It appears that she’s right and she’s gotten herself into trouble. Is their romance destined to go any further, and can she handle the two pink lines that she’s seeing? Read this dramatic second story in the Harbour Village series to find out what happens!
