Hazel Smith is a Canadian published author. It’s a pen name used by a mom who lives in a small town in Canada.

All her life, Hazel has loved mystery stories. She got started with mysteries and with learning to read in English with the classic yellow hardbacks of the Nancy Drew series. She has always believed that family, faith, food and friends are the ideal cozy combination to bring together. She really enjoys bringing all these ingredients in and making them a part of the mysteries that she writes.

Hazel has written several mystery series, including the Maid Ivy Cozy Mystery series, set in the Hotel LaFontaine in London and has written other cozy series that she says she cannot wait for readers to pick up and binge read and promises that there is more on the way. Gemma also has Buddy, her furry first mate, helping them out by doing his best to sniff out clues. They all set out to deliver justice for the dead woman, but whether they’re able to carry out this mission yet remains to be seen. Whether or not they get there, one thing is for sure: they’re going to have plenty of antics, bonding moments, and gourmet dishes as they go along.

Navigating through a variety of interesting characters, they find out that everyone has secrets that they are hiding. The ladies are doing well, but they’re also asking a lot of questions. It turns out that people would like them to slow down on that, and it’s more than just the local ship security officer. When a threat to them turns potentially deadly, Gemma and Viv start to understand that they might be in danger.

The cruise is coming up on its last port soon. Gemma has to find the killer quickly, and with her own life now potentially in danger, there’s a lot on the line.
