Christine Wells is a successful published author and a former corporate lawyer who left the field behind in order to pursue fiction.

She went through brain surgery that saved her life when she was two years old, and going through the procedure was enough to make her want to be a brain surgeon when she got older. Christine would end up revising that plan based on a love that she had for the humanities and not doing well with blood.

Christine was someone who was always interested in law. She won a half-scholarship to Bond University by participating in a high school moot competition. Once she had done that, she wanted to follow in the footsteps of her father and become a solicitor. She completed her Bachelor’s degree and went on to work for city firms, advising on things such as capital raising and mergers and acquisitions.

Wells was still working as a lawyer when she decided to begin her first novel, which was a historical murder mystery that has now been lost somewhere on a hard drive. She eventually decided to attempt to be published in the United States, a market where it appeared that British-set historical romance stories were very popular. Christine has always been devoted to Georgette Heyer novels and decided to go for it.

Now it has been years and she is an award-winning novelist with several books out in her name. The books have done very well and have been translated into different languages that include Japanese, Dutch, German, Spanish, Portuguese, and Russian. She is married and has two sons with her husband, who is also a lawyer. They reside in Brisbane, Australia.

Christine had always been a huge reader, reading every single book that she could get her hands on and asking her parents to take her to different lending libraries and even using the cards of other family members in order to get her hands on more books. It seems only fitting that she is an author today!

Today she is enjoying writing and also is passionate when it comes to helping other writers and potential writers get to know the craft and the business of writing fiction. Christine likes to serve as a mentor and she takes on teaching workshops whenever she is able to have the free time in her schedule to do it.

She is someone who loves dogs, holidays at the beach, running, and going window shopping to find antiques, as well as writing historical fiction stories that feature female characters who are strong and fascinating.

The Paris Gown is a 2024 novel by Christine Wells. If you have been looking for something new and enjoyable to read, check out this story of three young women living in 1950s Paris who decide that (much like the girls in The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants) they are going to share a single Christian Dior gown among them.

The year is 1957 and three friends are living together, sharing an apartment that is located above a bookstore in Paris. Margot, Charlotte and Gina all get along great and are young women in the prime of their lives.

Margot is an Australian, a 22 year old long lady who is having a great time. She was shipped over to the City of Light so that she could get some finishing before she was debuted. Through this process, Margot is able to fall even deeper in love with Paris once more. To her, the only thing missing from completing her transformation into being a Parisian is a gown from Mr. Dior. This is important, especially if she wants to catch the eye of Peter Mountbatten, who serves as a distant cousin of the Queen.

Then there’s Gina, an American woman whose family has run into some hard times. She decides that the answer is to run to Paris and is working in a bookstore during the day and writing a novel at night. When she gets an invitation to a high society ball at the American Embassy where the man who jilted her will be there with his new wife, she knows that she is going to have to find a stunning gown to wear.

There is also Charlotte, the French chef who is the only girl in a family of boys. She’s also one of the few women working in the restaurant business. She has always seen herself as being homely, especially when compared to her pretty mother. She’s always had more interest in work over fashion, but that might end up changing soon.

Margot comes up with the idea one night of buying a gown and splitting the cost of it among the three of them. If each of them contribute some of their savings, they’ll be able to wear the gown and take turns doing it. A gorgeous piece, the Dior gown could transform all of their lives. Will these women find that this perfectly tailored piece is what they have been missing? Read this book to find out!

The Lost Perfumes of Paris is a 2026 novel by Christine Wells. Set in Paris and full of the glamour of the city and featuring the art of perfume, this is a fascinating story of love, resilience, and the pursuit of passion.

Élodie Limeaux had a mother named Aurore who was a famed perfumer in France before World War II. She was known for the amazing fragrances that she would come up with for the House of Limeaux. She is now in her twenties and wants to join the family business, but her father has not let her follow after her mother and she’s had to battle just to become a lab assistant.

Despite this, she has plans to enter the French Perfume Institute’s Essence of Paris contest. She is hoping that a win will give her the chance to get investment from Swiss banker Monsieur Caspari, someone who wants to launch a new scent for women while also buying back the House of Limeaux.

Caspari is impressed with the young women’s talent and drive and says that he’ll back her if she collaborates with Marcelo, his song. She has to agree, and is surprised by his passion and obsession for perfume. The two take on betrayals and sabotage together as they look for the essence of Paris. Will this be the start of a wonderful love and career? Read this book to find out!
