You Me Everything is a 2018 novel by Catherine Isaac. This is a fictional story that has been set in the French countryside on a summer vacation in a tale that is all about discovering love and joy in places that you might not expect.
Jess and her son William, who is ten years old, are on their way to spend their summer at Chateau de Roussignol. The place is set in the hills of the Dordogne, a place that is drenched in sunlight. Jess’s ex-boyfriend and the father of her son Adam lives there, where he runs a hotel in a restored castle.
The place has so much to like, from its beautiful pool to its gardens to the delicious French food and a wine list that is seemingly endless. Once she gets there, Jess has to admit that she is impressed by what Adam has been able to achieve here. Despite all of this, she has come to France for what she believes is the most important thing, to have Adam bond with his son.
Adam does not seem clued into this plan, and he also has another girlfriend with him. He doesn’t have the impetus to attempt to try and change some lifelong habits just because Jess and William have decided that they want to come visit and have popped up out of nowhere. Jess can handle the disappointment but she knows that her son just wants to spend some quality time with him.
Jess can’t let Adam let their son down, especially since she is bothered by a secret of her own that she is determined to keep anyone from discovering. The last person that she would ever want to find out about it is William.
