Blair Palmer Yoxall is an author and a poet who has won awards.

He is a citizen of the Métis Nation of Alberta and is of Métis and settler parentage. He likes to go fly fishing in the Alberta Rockies. His debut novel is Treat Them as Buffalo.

His writing and poetry have been featured in such places as The Fiddlehead, Glass Buffalo, and Carving Space: The Indigenous Voice Awards Anthology. His writing also was entered into the 2016 Striking Prose Competition sponsored by Terry Whitehead and won. He also won the 2019 James Patrick Folinsbee Prize in English. His writing was shortlisted for a 2017 Norma Epstein Foundation Award and a 2019 Indigenous Voices Award.

Blair attended the University of Alberta, where he received his M.A. in English and specialized in Indigenous literatures, creative writing, and Westerns.

Law enforcement fails and refuses to look into the disappearance and so the members of the community decide that it is time to tackle things on their own. They all decide to rally around their temporary leader, the rancher Kate McCannon.

The coalition of freedom fighters is able to strike back at the Mounted Police as they look into the disappearance of the boys and take the future into their own hands. Violence keeps on haunting Niko and the boys just keep on going missing. As he tries to leave his boyhood behind and gets closer to finding his cousin, Niko’s investigation ends up pointing to a revelation about his heritage which may come closer to violence than any boy would want to know.
