Brad R. Torgersen is an American published author.

During the day he is a full time healthcare tech geek and on the weekends he serves as a U.S. Army Reserve Warrant Officer. He is also a veteran who has served in six different countries. He is a contributing author to the Orson Scott Card’s Intergalactic Medicine Show and Analog Science Fiction and Fact magazine, which awarded him the ‘AnLab’ reader’s choice prize in the category of best novelette in 2010.

Torgersen is a Writers of the Future winner and a Campbell nominee for Best New Science Fiction writer. He has also been a Hugo nominee for Ray of Light, his novelette, and a Nebula nominee for Ray of Light as well. Brad was also the 2019 DragonCon Dragon Award winner in the category of Best Science Fiction novel. His stories have been featured in a variety of different anthologies and magazines.

He describes himself as a political Classical Liberal and says that he believes in having an open mind as long as your brains do not fall out. He has been married for over two decades to his wife and they have one daughter together and reside in the Rocky Mountain West. Before that the author was living and working close to the Puget Sound. He writes nonfiction occasionally for his own blog and a Mad Genius Club group blog.
