Amy Goldsmith is a British published author known for writing books such as Those We Drown (A Barnes & Noble YA Book Club selection), Our Wicked Histories, Predatory Natures, and A Darker Act.

Amy has a love for all things spooky. She grew up on England’s south coast, where she had an obsession with obscure seventies horror movies and old ghost stories. Amy attended the University of Sussex where she studied psychology. She received her Postgraduate Certificate in Education and moved to London to teach.

Today Amy resides on the south coast once more. She continues to teach English in addition to writing and likes to spend her weekend free time looking through antiques shops to find haunted mirrors. Her family and her whippet also live with her on the Sussex coast.

Predatory Natures is a 2025 book by Amy Goldsmith. If you love a good suspenseful novel that whisks you away from the everyday and into another world, and have been wanting to get familiar with a new author, check out this book and see what you think.

A teen girl gets her dream job working on a luxury train. But it all starts to go off the rails quickly when she finds out about the odd cargo that is being transported on the train. It seems odd that a beautiful greenhouse may be part of the cargo that is being pulled along, but the mysterious greenhouse’s appearance may not be as innocent as it looks.

Lara Williams lands a summer job working on board the Banebury, a luxury train. She is so excited and it seems like she’s been able to land herself a top-notch escape from the past. Maybe this is her big chance to turn everything around. Then she finds out that her former friend Rhys is going to be one of her coworkers. Their relationship totally exploded but despite all of this, Lara promises herself that she is going to make things work out.

It’s not even one day that has gone by before the trip ends up taking a turn. Two carriages filled up with rare and gorgeous plants are attached to the Banebury in the middle of the night. Perhaps even stranger than this, a pair of siblings end up coming along with them.

Gwen and Gwydion are charismatic and wealthy, and have a simple explanation for their presence and the presence of the greenhouse. They say that they’re transporting the plants for research purposes. Despite this, Lara cannot help but feel that there is something out of this world when it comes to the plants. She also can’t explain why, but she feels that there is something about the blooms that will make sure that the train doesn’t get to its ultimate destination no matter what.

Lara is about to find out that when it comes to your troubles, you can’t run away from them. You have to get them by the roots. She also has to work quickly. She knows on some intuitive level that she’s going to have to get to the bottom of the secrets of the Banebury before they end up taking her down for good. What will happen? Read this fascinating book from Amy Goldsmith to find out!

A Darker Act is a 2026 book by Amy Goldsmith. This book is a young adult story of romance and folk horror that will send shivers down your spine! Even though it’s a YA book, this book can be read by readers of any age and is inspired by the legend of the ‘Wild Hunt’.

A teen girl reunites with her acting group months after a harrowing performance to go on a weekend camping trip in the woods. They intend to have a good time, but will things take a turn when they find out that they have woken something up– and it’s followed them there?

It turns out that there’s something out there that enjoys hunting young maidens for sport. But where did this all start? Hazel was just another high school senior who joined her school’s theater group, the Edgemoor Players. At the time, she was just looking for another extracurricular to put onto her resume for college. This year the Players are putting on a dramatic production– the story of a tragic romance that was inspired by the real local legends revolving around a ghost huntsman who hunted on the moors.

The play went on and no one likes to talk about its horrible final performance or the strange things that happened before it went on. Hazel ends up signing up to go on an extra credit camping trip months down the line and she finds that she’s been reunited with her cast mates for the weekend.

Hazel’s now been trapped in the woods with the same people that she put on the play with and is going to have to confront her friends, which include the leading man of the Players, Roman. They’re all also going to have to deal with the fact that the thing that they started last year is still going and they’re going to have to contend with it.

It turns out that the Edgemoor Players woke something out there up. Now it’s active and will not stop until it catches its prey. Check out this horror story to find out what happens and whether these theater kids are going to be able to stop what they’ve started or if they’re in for the worst weekend of their lives by getting a copy of A Darker Act by Amy Goldsmith.
