Maverick Miller is the league’s best player, but he has never managed to attain a winning record. He is the team captain and wants to do whatever it takes to turn things around. He decides that it is time to get along with the left winger who’s new to the team, even if they are pretty much different in every way possible.

Then they go through a night where the tension between them hits an all time high. They end up in bed together, and Emmy and Maverick promise each other and themselves that it is just going to be this one time that it happens. They want to get it out of their systems so that they are able to play better while also helping out their team. At least that is what they are telling themselves.

It doesn’t mean much and she knows that she’s the type who doesn’t go out with hockey players. He’s also a playboy known for not dating anyone. But what should have gone down just one time ends up leading to yet another encounter.

What ends up happening just once turns into a regular arrangement between the pair. The more that they spend time together, the more that they try to convince each other that this is just a friends with benefits situation, and it’s just for the season.
