Widow’s Point: The Complete Haunting is a 2025 book by W.H. Chizmar and Richard Chizmar. Richard Chizmar has been called ‘one of horror’s indispensable writers’ by Paste, and now has shared his talents along with his son to bring readers an incredible debut.

So many people have raved about this book, including Josh Malerman, the New York Times bestselling author who has said that it is ‘one of the best debuts I’ve ever read’. The story is told through a found footage narrative that revolves around some thrill seekers who end up finding themselves in a harrowing situation when they discover that they are trapped in a haunted lighthouse.

Those who have lived in Harper’s Cove for some time will tell you that they believe that the Widow’s Point Lighthouse has something wrong with it. Some people say that it’s cursed, while other residents swear up and down that the structure itself is haunted.

The lighthouse was first built in 1838, but the construction of the lighthouse itself did not go auspiciously. Three workers ended up being killed during the construction of it, with one plunging to his death from the catwalk somehow. While that accident never fully got explained, it turns out that all of this chaos would just be the beginning and more tragedy would follow.

In the decades that came after, there were nearly 2 dozen more deaths that managed to get racked up, all occurring either inside the lighthouse itself or around it. These varied from being murder, suicide, accidents that could not be explained, and just straight-up disappearances. At one point, an entire family was murdered, and a Hollywood starlet met her untimely end while attempting to get a movie made on the grounds of the lighthouse.

All of this was enough to finally turn the tide against the lighthouse. Too many things had happened at this point and it was clear that something was going on. The decision was made to shutter the lighthouse and it was closed in 1988, with a security fence being built around the property for good measure to try and keep people out.

Ever since that time, no one has been able to make their way inside. No one has dared to. But all of that is about to change. For the first time, some outsiders decide to break in and see what happens.

This story is told across two incidents that take place from 2017 and today. It features those who decided that they wanted to go inside the lighthouse so that they could make some content to hopefully go viral or become the next big thing. Even though they go into the structure with high hopes, they soon find themselves completely cut off from the world outside.

What they cannot know is that even though no one has been inside of this structure for a long time, the group is not going to be alone. Can they make it through what is coming their way? Will they find out that this has all been an overblown accident? Or is there some truth to all of the rumors in this area about the lighthouse being haunted?

A father and son team up to bring readers an authentically scary ghost story that is all about what might be waiting for us in the dark. Haunting and a blast to read, check out Widow’s Point: The Complete Haunting to follow along with every word!

Them is a 2026 novel by W.H. Chizmar. This is the first ever solo debut from this author and if you loved his work in his collaboration on Widow’s Point then you are going to love this novel! It is a survival horror story meets post-apocalyptic mayhem that fans of Stephen King’s The Mist will not want to miss.

When a top secret government project comes up with a new idea for how they can move matter across huge expanses of the universe, it’s almost too good to be true. When they put that idea into motion, it ends up bringing something along back with it– something that is actually alive.

It isn’t long before mankind’s rule at the top of the food chain comes to a very sudden halt and in a way that they never saw coming. When a truck hauling a shipping container turns over and rolls off of the highway, something gets loose. Without knowing it, it has unleashed a horror from another world into the countryside of New England. Worse than that, it does not seem like it is likely to be contained.

Humanity never stood a chance. From out of the collapse of humanity years later, one man emerges. He sets out looking for other people who have survived and looking for some type of hope in a landscape that is looking very lonely.

He moves by night up the East Coast, finding monsters that no one has survived encountering. He also has to contend with feeling like he is losing his sense of humanity in the face of what he is up against. If he meets anyone left out there, they might have lost their humanity and become monsters themselves. Can he persist despite the odds, or is there no hope of winning when it comes to us vs. Them? Read Them to find out!
