The Wimpy Vampire series written by author Tim Collins consists of a total of 4 books which were released between the years 2010 and 2013. The first book of this series was published under the title ‘Diary of a Wimpy Vampire’. It was published as a Paperback edition in the year 2010. Author Tim has described the principle characters in this book in the form of Nigel Mullet, Adrian Mole, and Della Sparrow. At the beginning of the story, Nigel Mullet is depicted as a pretty unlucky. His life story seems to be similar to that of Edward Cullen in the Twilight saga. His hysterical diary shows that he was turned into a vampire during his teenage years. To add to his misery, Nigel comes to know that he is going to remain like this for the rest of his life. Unfortunately for him, he became a vampire at a pretty awkward and young age of 15.
Due to this, Nigel Mullet will have to spend an eternity in trying to cope with a breaking voice, acne, and the total ineptness with the girls. Nigel Mullet has also mentioned in his excruciatingly humorous and funny diary how he makes increasingly desperate efforts in order to get noticed by his lover named Della Sparrow. He has even described the constant mortification which is caused by his parents, who are also vampires. One of the other important things mentioned by Nigel Mullet in his diary is the frustration that he feels while thinking that he has got the whole of eternity that stretches in a rather boring manner in front of him. Nigel feels that being a wimpy boy is very bad when you know that you are normal. But, it becomes even worse when you turn into a vampire.
One of the other books written by author Tim Collins in the Wimpy Vampire series was released under the title ‘The Wimpy Vampire Strikes Back’. This book was published by the Michael O’Mara Books publication in the year 2013. The story mentioned in this book continues to depict the story of Nigel Mullet, who is a diarist, vampire, hero, and a dork. He feels extremely bad when he learns that he has been transformed into a vampire permanently and has to cope with it for the rest of his life. The other important characters mentioned in the plot of this book include Leonara and Viktor. At the start of the book, it is shown that after being transformed into a vampire at the young age of 15, Nigel Mullet faces the toughest challenge of his life, that is responsibility. He has described in his hilarious novel that he gets the responsibility of a vampire coven located on a remote island in Scotland. Already, Nigel was very much busy with the task of finishing his homework on vampire history as well as impressing a vampire girl named Leonara. Therefore, when he comes to know that he has been made the in charge and has to spend his time in trying to the resolve the petty disputes of the vampires on the Scottish island, he becomes very much frustrated.
Soon, a new vampire called Viktor joins the class and Nigel Mullet seems to be more than happy to let him become the in-charge of the coven. However, he does not seem to be aware of the fact that Viktor was a merciless and brutal leader. In the end, Nigel finds himself as a hapless fellow as he is made the head of the movement of resistance against the enemies. Therefore, it becomes important for him to know whether he will be able to defeat the enemy forces and whether he will be able to win the love of his life or not. In one of the other books in the series written by author Tim Collins, the story of a 15 year wimp is depicted. This book is titled as ‘Hairy But Scary’, and was released by the Michael O’Mara publication in the year 2011. The main character depicted in this book is named as Luke Thorpe, who is 15 years old and is a vampire. He seems to very good in mathematics and awful in the sports activities. In spite of these, several uncontrollable and mysterious changes in the appearance and behavior of Luke Thorpe force him out of the obscurity. Following this, Luke decides to go on a journey for discovering the roots of his werewolf nature. During his journey, he comes across a number of embarrassing mishaps and hilarious situations. However, he seems determined to succeed in his attempt and find the reasons behind the sudden change in his personality and behavior.
