Erin McCarthy is one of the well known authors from The United States, who has written numerous successful books based on the new adult and romance genres. She has featured in the list of the New York Times and USA Today bestselling authors on multiple occasions. It was in the year 2002 that author Erin completed the written work of her first book and sold it to her publisher. One of the most successful new adult novel series written by author Erin McCarthy is titled as ‘Blurred Lines’ series. This series is comprised of a total of 5 books, which were released between the years 2014 and 2015. The debut book of this interesting series was released under the title of ‘You Make Me’. This book was self published by author Erin and features the main characters as Caitlyn Michaud, Heath, and Ethan. Author Erin has set the plot of this book in Maine, United States. At the opening scene of this new adult book, author Erin has shown that Caitlyn grows up on the Maine coasts in the midst of some foster siblings. She spends a passionate and intense year by falling in love with a foster brother named Heath. But, she receives betrayal when Heath leaves without saying a word. This leaves Caitlyn devastated. She makes a promise to herself that she will forget Heath and remove all his memories from her mind. However, it was very difficult for her to forget the sensual touch of Heath as well as their intense friendship. Later, Caitlyn moves on in her life and joins a college. She rises above the impoverished roots of the small town and joins a sorority. She also reinvents her appearance and gets a perfect a boyfriend in the form of Ethan. He is shown as a pre-law student and the president of the student union. Caitlyn finds Ethan to be a thoughtful and cheerful guy. He even likes to make Caitlyn happy every time she is around him. Ethan gives Caitlyn the most important thing that she craves for in the form of social acceptance. But, the dream of a perfect world that Caitlyn has tried very hard to obtain so far gets broken in a second when Heath reappears in her life. By looking at his face Caitlyn remember all the things that she loved about him, even though they did not make any sense to others except her. After coming back from the military, Heath appears to be as intense and brooding as ever. He seems pretty much determined to win Caitlyn back into his life and also take revenge against all those who were responsible for keeping them apart. Now, it becomes very difficult for Caitlyn to choose between Heath and Ethan as there is equal love for both of them in her heart. Both of them seem very essential to her and she is not able to think a solution to this huge problem in her life.
Another contemporary romance book written by author Erin in this series is titled as ‘Live For Me’. It was released in 2014 and depicts the central characters as Tiffany Ennis and Devin Gold. As the books begins, Tiffany Ennis is shown as being in and out of the foster care all her life. She never had any privacy or space. And when she gets the job of housesitting the mansion of a rich owner on the Maine coast in the company of only the dog of the owner, she seems very much happy. But, when the owner returns to the mansion unexpectedly on one day, Tiffany’s peace gets shattered. She finds him to be an intriguing and sexy man as he shows interest in her and makes her feel special. The owner, Devin Gold, is a popular personality in the music world and is always surrounded by men and women. Tiffany wishes that he would stay with her at the mansion. As they begin to indulge in intellectual conversations, Tiffany seems to enjoy it very much. In spite of knowing that he is very much older than her, she begins to fall for him. Even Devin appears to very protective about her and likes to enjoy her company very often. Now, Tiffany begins to wonder how far she is willing to go in this relationship after knowing that Devin is still married to someone. The special feeling that Tiffany Ennis gets by being in the company of Devin Gold makes everything else blur in front of her eyes.
