February 2025: Books I Read Last Month

Not a great month for me reading wise. Well, new books at least.
I got sick at the beginning of the month with COVID, and it absolutely crushed me. It took until the second half of the month before I was feeling better, and could work out again.
I’m not sure about you guys, but when I’m sick I never like to tackle new books. Just like with TV shows or movies – if I’m sick, I go with a comfort show to watch like an old sitcom.
So with books it’s the same for me – I read a whole bunch of John Grisham novels for the first part of the month due to being sick.
It was quite enjoyable I have to say even though I’ve read books like “The Firm” and “The Client” at least 15 times by now. Just nice going back to them.
Other than that….
Hidden Bodies by Caroline Kepnes: Second book in the “You” series. Better story than “You” I think. I really enjoyed it and rated it slightly higher over on Book Notification.
As I mentioned last month – don’t read these. Listen to them. Narration is incredible.
The Roommate by Kiersten Modglin: Psychological thriller. The story is a man is breaking up with his wife, and he bumps into a person who attended the same school with him, and stays with him.
Standard fare for the most part – some weak writing honestly (IT expert who to prevent a future hack defrags a hard drive – c’mon!!!) but it got realllly bad with a twist that was just so stupid, and honestly makes me not trust the author when they pull that sort of thing. Puts me off future books.
However this one is one of the lowest rated ones and the book was alright so I’ll probably give Kiersten another shot soon, as I do enjoy my psychological thrillers. If you have read any of her books, let me know some recommendations in the comments as I’d like to give her another try soon.
