Kate Baray is a published author and is a pen name used by Cate Lawley, another pen name where she writes the Vegan Vamp Mysteries, Death Retired Mysteries, and Fairmont Finds Canine Cozy Mysteries. Under Kate Baray, she has written the Lost Library series as well as the Spirelli Paranormal Investigations series.
Kate enjoys writing urban fantasy page-turner stories that are filled with relatable characters. When she is not busy typing away at her keyboard or contemplating her next writing project, she is sweeping up dust bunnies and staying busy watching engaging British mysteries.
The author hails from Austin, Texas, the same place where many of her stories are set. She chose to migrate north to Boise, Idaho. One of her favorite times of year is soup season, and there it is a season that lasts over two weeks, which is great.
She has held positions as an attorney, a dog trainer, a tractor sales person, and a manager. Writer is her favorite of these positions yet and is the hands-down winner. She is so happy that readers continue to read her books, as it allows her to continue writing.
Lost Library is the first book in the series by the same name written by Kate Baray. If you have been looking for a new book to read that is full of fantasy and completely original and also has a bit of romance, be sure to check this book out.
When it comes to a mysterious magical book, one might wonder what the point of it existing is if it cannot be read. Lizzie doesn’t know what is going on with this book, but one thing that she does know is that there is magic afoot.
Lizzie is surprised when a handsome stranger shows up at her door. He’s asking questions and it seems from his demeanor that he expects her to have a whole lot of answers. In the process of all this, she can’t manage to decide if she wants to kiss the guy or kick at him and tell him to get lost.
The man’s name is John, and he confides in her that he is a Lycan. That doesn’t make things any easier, but that’s the way that it goes. Lizzie wants to catch her breath and hit pause on all of this, but before she can, she finds herself caught up along with John in the middle of a bid for power put on by an evil mastermind.
It’s anyone’s guess whether she’ll be able to thwart the plans of this new enemy, but it does help matters that she has John by her side. This is a fun adventure story that will have the reader flipping the pages to find out what happens next.
Go on another adventure for yourself and explore the life and world of Lizzie, a quirky and well meaning girl, as she finds out more about not only magic, but strange creatures that go bump in the night, and even potentially love.
Spirited Legacy is the second book in the Lost Library series authored by Kate Baray. If you liked the first book in this series, be sure to check the second one out further and see what you think!
Strange and spooky events keep going on inside a newly discovered library that is full of spell books. It’s the perfect time for magical mischief to be going on, but what mischief will be carried out and why?
When Lizzie gets a tempting offer, she has to take some time to think it over. An internship to the Lost Library could be just the thing that she is looking for. It’s an amazing place that plays host to hundreds of magical books. There aren’t a lot of places like this out there and she feels pretty lucky to have been offered this position.
There’s more to the offer as well. Her potential boss has expressed that they would like to act as her magic mentor. So not only would Lizzie get to be around magical books in a magical place, she would even have a mentor guiding her along the way. It seems like a situation where it should be easy for her to say yes.
But before she can do that, there are also many different questions to be had concerning an unresolved love affair, dealing with a new arch enemy, and a past that continues to haunt her. Still, despite all of this, Lizzie knows that this could be a really great opportunity and she’s heavily considering it.
What will happen, and will more chaos come out of Lizzie saying yes– or no? Read this book to find out what Lizzie does and how she will be always doing the most to try and maximize what life as well as the afterlife throws at her. This book can be enjoyed as a stand alone or on its own as the second novel in the Lost Library series. Grab a copy today!
