Eleven Liars is the second book in the Ben Harper series by Robert Gold. If you thought that the first story in this series was fun and full of twists, keep the adventure going by checking out this sequel and seeing what you think.
Ben Harper has returned and the investigative journalist does not have too long to wait before he has more situations to dig his teeth into. A fire ends up burning the local community center to the ground, and when it does, the small town appears to have endless questions about it and what happened.
As it turns out, Ben is the only witness to what has happened. He also ended up saving a man from the blaze, but then that man ends up fleeing from the scene. Ben is suspicious about the start of the fire. The journalist inside of him understands that the fire was anything but an accident. Then the police end up finding something that makes his blood run cold.
Ben decides that it is time to team up with his friend Dani Cash, a police officer. Together they take on the case and examine the remains. They also find a twenty year old murder and make a discovery that could change everything. As it turns out, the bones covered in ash belong to Dani’s mother.
But Ben thinks that this must be impossible. As far as he knows, Dani’s mother passed away in a house fire years ago. They all buried her body, putting their memories to rest. Ben holds close to his dearest friend and has endless questions moving through his mind. He wonders who killed Dani’s mother years ago, and whether someone else is buried in her grave if her remains are here.
It appears that someone is going to huge lengths in order to hide the crimes they have committed. He and Dani start questioning people in their close community. Meanwhile, the police start paying attention to Dani’s father, which may end up unearthing a conspiracy that may end up shaking the small town to its very center. Could it be that Dani’s father was on the edge of uncovering the truth, or was there someone out there who was setting him up so that he could be silenced?
Ben knows that he needs to get to the bottom of the secrets that have been buried under the ashes, and before his close friend ends up losing what remains of her family. Will it end up costing far too much to expose twenty years of lies? Is it just too late to rescue an innocent life? Find out by getting a copy of this book and see what you think!
