Agri Ismail is a successful published Kurdish author.
He is based in Sweden. In addition to being an author, he has also worked as a corporate lawyer in Dubai, Iraqi Kurdistan, and London.
His debut novel came out in 2024 and is titled Hyper. He has also written other things and has had the distinction of his work being featured in such publications as The Rumpus, The White Review, Guernica, The Lifted Brow, Asymptote, and others.
Agri’s work “Haunted Home” won him the 2016 Stack Award for best nonfiction for The Outpost. The author was also longlisted for the 2017/2018 Galley Beggar Press Short Story Prize.

Rafiq Hardi Kermanj is the founder of Kurdistan’s communist party. But on the eve of the 1979 Revolution, he decides to flee Iran with his young family and make his way to London.
