Hanna Thomas Uose is a successful published author.

She is also a researcher, strategist, organizational designer, facilitator and coach for the progressive movement. She is also a co-founder of Align, a consulting firm.

Born in Tokyo, she grew up in Essex, Birmingham, and Oxford. Hanna went to the University of East Anglia for her higher education, where she got her MA in Prose Fiction. Before that she was busy working in campaigns and advocacy.

Her debut book was titled Who Wants to Live Forever and came out in 2025 to lots of praise and positive reviews. It was named a BBC Radio 2 Book Club pick, won the Morley Prize for Unpublished Writers of Colour, and was a Good Housekeeping Good Books Spring Collection pick.

She is working on another book while also busy teaching speculative fiction writing to frontline organizers with Migrants in Culture. She has also been busy working on different consulting projects.

Some of Hanna’s favorite recent projects include a paper on creative practice and organizational transformation for UN Global Pulse, facilitating the AGMs for Greenpeace International and Fossil Free Japan, a report on how to respond to culture wars for NEON, designing an organizational structure for Jewish Voice for Peace, editing The Collective Imagination Practices Toolkit, coaching leaders from Liberty and MoveOn.org, and coming up with a new ethical framework for Amnesty International UK, as well as co-leading a strategy review process for Doughnut Economics Action Lab.

Hanna has previously served in a variety of positions. She has been a Chief Product Officer at 350.org, a Campaigns and Culture Director at Ekō, a co-founder at Level Up, and a Board Trustee at Free Tibet and Spark the Noise.

Hanna has been a speaker and a panelist for a variety of groups, such as the Allied Media Conference, Ada’s List, Glastonbury Festival, the Cheltenham Literature Festival, and The London Festival of Architecture.

The author has an MA in Prose Fiction that she got from the University of East Anglia and an MSc in Climate Change and Policy that she received from the University of Sussex.
