N.J. Walters is a noteworthy author who likes to write her novels based on the romance, contemporary, and paranormal genres. She has written a number of highly successful novel series based on these genres. Walters was very much fond of writing romance novels, but she did not get the chance initially to pursue her writing career. Therefore, she had to begin working in a bookstore as a bookkeeper. After working for some time in the bookstore, she got an idea that she would quit from her boring job as a bookkeeper, sell each and everything that she had, move from her hometown, and go to a place where no one was familiar with her so that she could write her romance novels peacefully. Eventually, Walters did what she thought, but did get fruitful results in her first attempt as a writer. Therefore, after struggling for a period of two years, she went back to hometown, settled there, and continued again with her job at the bookstore for another 7 years.
One day, she received a letter from one of the publishing companies in which she had submitted her first romance novel. She was told that her first novel of erotic romance was tentatively accepted. The next day, author Walters gave her resignation letter to the bookstore where she used to work, and from then on, life never remained the same for her. Walters believes that the success of her writing career was mainly due to her voracious reading habits. As of today, she spends most of her time in writing her own novels based on the erotic romance, paranormal, and contemporary genres. The main characters of most of the novels written by her include werewolves, seductive handymen, vampires, dragons, next door neighbors, and time travelers. All the male characters in her novels are described as being extremely handsome with smoldering good and attractive looks. The way she describes the primary leads in her novels makes the readers feel as all of them keep on vying for the attention of author Walters. She also believes that being an author of romance novels is a pretty tough life, but she has to continue living with it just like the other famous romance writers.
One of the most successful novel series written by author N.J. Walters is titled as ‘Legacy’. This series consists of a total of 7 books published between the years 2009 and 2014. The first novel of the series was published under the title ‘Alexandra’s Legacy’. It was released by the Samhain Publishing company in the year 2009. The plot of this novel revolves around the happenings in the lives of the central characters named Joshua Striker and Alexandra Riley. In the opening sequence of the plot of the novel, it is shown that a normal day in the life of Alexandra Riley starts like any other individual in the predictable world. But soon, this illusion of her gets shattered when a tall and dark stranger enters into the garage of her father. At that shocking moment, Alexandra comes to know that reason why she always feels hot and restless. She becomes aware of the fact that she is the half breed daughter of one of the legendary werewolves and is regarded as one of the most sought after prize by other werewolves.
One of the werewolves named Joshua Striker is introduced into the plot of the novel as the enforcer, who is given the responsibility of protecting all the alphas in the pack of the Wolf Creek. He is required to visit the home Alexandra. Right from the moment Joshua sees Alexandra, he begins to fall for her beauty. As a result, she becomes the one thing begins to distract him from his duties, and he cannot afford to get distracted. She seems to have come into her life as a form of weakness which he does not want but cannot even resist. However, he seems to be determined to protect Alexandra from all those alpha males who are on the hunt for a mating partner. Throughout the streets of the city of North Carolina and up to the mountains, Joshua and Alexandra try to evade all the males want the human DNA in Alexandra to get tainted with their bloodlines. They even try to protect themselves from the bounty hunters who seem to be hell bent on killing both of them. In the event of their running away from the alpha males and the bounty hunters, Alexandra and Joshua develop a passion for each other, due to which Alexandra is left to make a tough choice. She is required to choose between her inner wolf, or miss the chance of claiming Joshua Striker, as her own for the rest of her life.
The second novel of the Legacy series written by author N.J. Walters was published under the title ‘Isaiah Haven’. It was released by the Samhain Publishing company in the year 2010. The plot of this novel revolves around the happenings in the lives of the main characters named Isaiah Striker and Meredith Cross. In the opening sequence of the plot of the novel, it is shown that Isaiah considers her family to his first priority than his wolf pack. Due to this, he is forced to live in the crowded and noisy city of Chicago instead of the peaceful woods. Having a look at the Haven nightclub owner and doing a favor to his brother turns Isaiah life upside down completely. On the other hand, Meredith Cross is depicted as holding her small pack with a lot of determination. After being on the run for years, she is hiding with her pack in the glare of the nightlife of Chicago. Even if Isiah makes her feel tempted, she seems determined not to lose her control and put the life of her half breed in danger. If she gets exposed, a number of bounty hunters and werewolves will be on the pursuit of her small pack in order to hunt them down. But, as the sexual attraction between Isaiah and Meredith begins to go out of control, she knows that a little distraction will lead danger to her door. The only choice Meredith seems to have is being with her pack rather than getting distracted by Isaiah. However, Isaiah Striker very well knows her mate just by seeing her and he does not seem to give up without a fight. Author Walters says that the novel is full of rogue werewolves, hot sex, sexy werewolves, jazzy nightclubs, a mysterious vampire, and deadly bounty hunters, and comes with a warning that it should be read only by the adult readers.
