The Twisted Road to You

This would be the fourth book in the ‘Perfect, Indiana’ series of novels, as they would all be self-contained romances set in the idyllic small-town of ‘Perfect.’ Originally released on the 20th of October in 2015, this would first come out through the ‘Montlake Romance’ publishing label. Featuring the same environment and town as the previous books, it does featuring some intertwined narrative elements and characters, but it can also be read as a stand-alone.

Dealing with PTSD and a traumatic past in Afghanistan, now retired Marine Wesley Holt is looking to put his memories behind him, along with the betrayal of his ex-wife and her affair. He has eyes for the waitress Carlie Stewart of the diner in Perfect, Indiana, but he feels it’s difficult letting his guard down and trusting again. That’s when Carlie’s ex-husband escapes from prison and threatens to come take their son and wreak revenge, leading to Wesley offering Carlie and her son a home and protection. Will he be able to let his guard down and love again? Can he protect them both? What will happen as he sees Carlie and questions to himself ‘how do I travel the twisted road to you?’

With plans for the future, Meredith MacCarthy reluctantly heads out west after the matriarch of her fae-family tells her she needs to pay heed to the spirit world. Heading off to become tour guide of a haunted ghost town in Montana, she meets a ghost there with a magnetic allure that pulls her into him. Daniel Cavanaugh was to help his family during the Great Famine of 1845, but ends up in the mining town of Garretsville where his life was taken, and he’s been left haunting ever since. Will Meredith’s arrival rekindle a passion for life? Can he get a second chance with her? What will become of him as they’re both summoned in time?
