Betsy Brannon Green is a prolific author hailing from America, who likes to write mystery and thriller novels. She is particularly famous for writing the Haggerty Mystery series. Author Green was born on June 01, 1958, in the Salt Lake City. For most parts of her life, she has resided in the American South. As of today, she resides in Bessemer, Alabama, which is a suburb of Birmingham in Alabama. At the time of Green’s birth, her father was studying at the Utah University in Salt Lake. After the completion of his undergraduate work, author Green’s father shifted to Birmingham, Alabama, where he attended a medical school. And immediately after graduating from medical school, he enrolled himself in the Army. As a result, for the next several years Green and his family had to live in multiple cities, including Ft. Knox, Colorado Springs, Honolulu, and San Antonio. Finally, they decided to settle in Decatur, Alabama. It was here that author Green met her future husband named Robert Green and married him in 1979. Author Green says that she was always interested in writing while growing up. The idea of becoming a writer after growing up was always there at the back of her mind during her school and college days. However, it was not before the fall of the year 1999 that she decided to write a novel seriously. Green took a period of 8 months to finish the writing work on her first novel. In spite of putting her everything into it, the book was eventually rejected by all the publishers Green took it to. However, her second attempt did not meet the same fate. Her novel, Hearts In Hiding, was accepted by the Covenant Communications for publishing in 2001. After that, author Green has gone on to write and publish 19 more books in her career with the same publishing house. She has even contributed a couple of Christmas books.

Pivot Point was the first book that was self published by author Green. It came out in the month of October, 2012. Author Green feels grateful that she got the opportunity of writing books. In addition to writing, the other greatest accomplishments of life according to her include marrying Robert Green and becoming the mother of 8 lovely children. Author Green is a Latter Day Saint novelist and she also considers some of her characters to be the same. She believes that she has a wide range of loyal readers, who are from different sections of the society. Whenever Green sits down to write a story, her only goal is to attract the readers towards her books and keep them engaged until the last pages. Her intention is to always make the readers laugh, cry, worry, and keep guessing about the end. Most of the books written by author Green are set in a fictional town known as Haggerty, which is located in Georgia. As per author Green, this town is loosely based on the hometown of her grandparents, Headland in Alabama. Green considers this town as the most wonderful, beautiful, and happening place on the entire earth. Each of Green’s books has an ample amount of suspense, romance, several recipes, and Southern hospitality. In 2010, author Green was nominated for the prestigious Whitney Award for one of her suspense-mystery novel titled Murder By The Book. Apart from working as a writer, Green also works as a teacher in a Sunday School in Bessemer. She even works for the Hueytwon Elementary School. Author Green loves to read and watch sports, and indulges in these activities whenever she finds the time. Her writings are mostly influenced by the generous and gracious people around her and by the Headland town in Alabama.

The Haggerty Mystery series written by Betsy Brannon Green is comprised of a total of 8 books, which were released between the years 2001 and 2007. All the books of this series feature a different set of main characters. The debut novel of the series is entitled ‘Hearts In Hiding’. It was released by the Covenant Communications in the year 2001. The plot of the book revolves around the life of the lead character named Kate Singleton. At the start of the book’s story, it is shown that Kate Singleton goes through a mixture of emotions in her life. She seems to be experiencing betrayal, anger, devastation, and self-pity, and much more. Kate Singleton is married for the last one year and is pregnant with her first child. She comes to know that her husband, who works as an FBI agent, has been murdered on duty. To add to her misery, Kate learns that the people who killed her husband have put a contract for killing her too. Kate takes the help of the FBI and flees from her house and out of danger. However, she is not able to take anything with her from her house, except the clothes that are on her body. The organization provides her a new set of clothes, new name, new home, and to her surprise, a new partner for life as her husband. It seems to be just the beginning of the many more adventures to come in Kate’s life. Before the end of the plot, the readers get acquainted with events of true love, kidnapping, and many more things that keep them intrigued till the last page. On the whole, the book is filled with a lot of actions, romance, suspense, and mystery.

The next book of the mystery series is called ‘Until Proven Guilty’. This book was also published by Covenant Communications in 2002. Author Green has introduced the chief character in this novel as Beth Middleton. At the beginning of the story of the book, it is depicted that the fiance of Beth Middleton dies in a road accident on the same day their wedding was about to take place. Beth becomes so devastated by this loss that she decides to distance herself from the society. She wishes to have no activity in her life and wants to just exist for the remaining days of her life. However, with the passage of time, Beth Middleton begins to attain normalcy in her life. She takes a job as an evaluator appointed by the court for a high profile local attorney and his 5 year old daughter. The job makes Beth Middleton feel that she is embroiled in a very important trial that could affect the legal career of her boss in a great way. But, as soon as the trial begins, witnesses begin to disappear, the kidnapping of the district attorney takes place, and a man possessing a gun begins to follow Beth to kill her. Beth wonders why she is getting targeted and so she begins to investigate to look for answers. She realizes that she has landed against a deadly killer, who not only wants her boss to lose the trial, but also the lives of both of them.
