“Call Me Maybe” is the first novel in the “Love Lines” series and was released in 2021. True love is on the line in a laugh out loud and charming romantic comedy.

Pick up the wrong bagel and coffee order. Paint your toes. Drive from Brooklyn to Jersey in traffic that’s so slow that you want to rip your hair out. It is amazing all of the useless things that Vera is able to accomplish while being on hold for three hours with customer service. Three hours when she should really be getting the Date-in-a-Box site ready for its launch at the huge business expo in just a few days.

Except that her shiny new site glitches out, and her inner rage monster is about ready to scorch some earth, once Cal finally answers the phone. Not some robot voice that she expected but Cal, a real live human. He is surprisingly quite helpful and totally knows his stuff, even if he’s just a little bit awkward but in an adorable way.

And all of a sudden Cal and Vera are exchanging numbers and sending DMs and texts everyday, leaving each other voice mails (who even does that anymore, anyway). And Vera is all of a sudden wondering if it is even possible for two people to fall in love at first talk.

“Sweet Talk” is the second novel in the “Love Lines” series and was released in 2021. It is officially booty o’clock, Jessie is alone again in her kitchen choking a slice of horrible chocolate cake down, and she is pretty sure that she just got drunk texted by the guy that she has a huge crush on.

Serafine St. Romain does not need her psychic powers to know that she is no longer in Tyler Leshuski’s good graces. It’s true that she did indeed rip him to shreds when he asked her out, accusing him of being selfish and shallow. Despite all of the energy that crackles between the two of them, this gorgeous sports writer is a no kids and no strings sort of guy. And Serafine, who was raised in the foster system, intends to be a foster parent herself. She will not compromise that dream, even for a guy that is as annoyingly appealing as Tyler.

In a much simpler world, Tyler would have gotten Serafine out of his system already. For him, women just equal fun. Not this sort of bone-deep and disconcerting desire. Life gets that much more complicated when he becomes the guardian of his much younger sister. All of a sudden, he is well out of his depth. Serafine’s the single person that can connect with Kylie.
