Celia Anderson
Author Celia Anderson lives right in the middle of the Midlands and dreams about owning a cottage by the sea, or at least on a river or canal. Instead, she makes do with living next door to a pond filled with ducks, however often manages to sneak in some more impressive watery places into her writing.

She was once a teacher and an assistant head. Now she writes full time and keeps her feet squarely on the ground by running kid’s clubs that involve cake and drama, mainly. Being an enthusiastic member of the Romantic Novelists’ Association, she organizes judging for the Romantic Novel of the Year Awards.

One of her happiest childhood memories is the early mornings during holidays. Her dad and mom were always early risers and Celia would get dressed fast so she could go out with her father to get a paper. They would take walks along the promenade (Barmouth typically), and just smell the ocean, knowing that eggs and bacon would be waiting for them when they got back and the entire wonderful day was stretching out before them.

The worst job she ever had was one of her first: checking the order forms for charity Christmas cards and the like. It was desperately boring work and she wasn’t all that good at it. However, the canteen was good and they did have the most amazing fish and chips on Fridays.

Celia enjoys reading, walking, having huge bubble baths, eating, and drinking wine. Over the years, she’s found that each one of these activities, except for the second, may be done at the same time, although this can get pretty messy. She also dabbles in painting and drawing, too. Another creative past time for her is cooking.

Her all time favorite romantic fiction writer of all time is D. E. Stevenson, as she finds her books are all so satisfying and comforting when you feel like you could use a hug.

She spends way too much time on social media and dreams of a day when she is strong minded enough to leave her house without taking her phone with her.

Her favorite song is “Take Me to the Mardi Gras” by Paul Simon. She wants the song played at her funeral while she is being wheeled in, and for people to dance to. Celia hopes that they are going to be smiling, but not giggling or guffawing, of course.

Celia’s ultimate dream is to get her kid’s books published as well. Usually sea-starved out in the depths of the Midlands, she can be found wandering around happily around Brighton visiting her daughters and pretending she is collecting up ideas for her next book.

She enjoyed writing books for kids when she had a captive audience at school to test them out, but she finds writing for adults to be just as fun. She isn’t a huge fan of writing short stories, though. So getting three ready for Romaniac Shorts was quite the steep learning curve for her.

“The Chocolate Project” was the title of her debut novel. It took her six months to write. Until it was almost ready for publication, the book was renamed “Sweet Proposal. Celia was beside herself with excitement when it was finally released, however she still likes the original title better. On publication day, she was on a whistle stop tour of America with her family and celebrated its release on top of the John Hancock Tower in Chicago. She had a great time.

If she had to pick a favorite place in the world, she would have to go with San Francisco. It is the place she met her husband, but there is also San Francisco Bay, The Golden Gate Bridge, Fisherman’s Wharf, the food, all the cable cars, and China Town. It is a place she could easily live in.

Celia’s debut novel, called “59 Memory Lane”, was released in the year 2019. Her work is from the romance genre and has made both the USA Today and Kindle bestseller list.

“59 Memory Lane” is the first novel in the “Pengelly” series and was released in the year 2019. May Rosevere has just reached the grand age of a hundred and ten, thanks to a slice of toast with butter each morning, one glass (maybe two) of sherry during the evening, and the wonders of the Cornish sea breeze. That’s what she’s tells everybody anyway.

There is more to May than just her remarkable age. May has a secret, however, one that nobody’s ever discovered, not even Charles, her late husband. A treasure trove of many long-forgotten letters, just waiting to reveal each of their secrets, and Julia (a frosty neighbor) are changing it all.

Fans found this to be a warm, rich, and enchanting read that is filled with some wonderful characters that by the end, you feel like you know like your own neighbors. The characters are relatable and witty, they make it easy to root for them the entire time. It’s also not to be pulled into their compelling, if a bit complex, lives.

“The Cottage of Curiosities” is the second novel in the “Pengelly” series and was released in the year 2020. Tucked away among all of Pengelly’s cobbled and winding streets in Cornwall, the old stone cottage on Memory Lane is filled with secrets. Brimming with treasures and trinkets, there are a lot of tales that are hidden within its walls.

Grace Clarke, age fifty-four, shows up in Pengelly determined to reveal the secrets from her past. Standing just outside of the little cottage, she feels certain the answers she craves lie inside. The truth about her long lost and mysterious mom and the much more mysterious gifts that she was born with.

Readers found this novel to be intriguing and enchanting. It is a magnificent story of hope, love, and friendship that is absolutely uplifting and heartwarming novel. Fans found this to be a gorgeous to a joy of a novel, and the world of Pengelly is a welcoming and warm one. Getting into this book is a lot like meeting up with a very good friend to find all kinds of emotions erupting inside of you.
