The Witches at the End of the World is a 2023 novel by Chelsea Iversen. If you have been looking for a story that is completely unique and original, this is a great book to check out.

When it comes to rage, sometimes it has the capacity to burn brighter than any spell’s fire ever could. Deep in the (birch)woods of Norway, there are two sisters who have magic positively coursing through their veins.

They’ve been alone for years but sometimes the only thing that you want is a change. Kaija has a sweet disposition, but she is also tired of living the way that they are in the shadows. She would really love to have the type of life that is full of community, and she would even be willing to stifle her own magic if that meant that she could have it.

However, there is also the other sister. Minna is a true witch and she always appears to have some type of wrath that is constantly going below the surface. The two sisters are very different but despite the fact that they are so different in terms of their personalities, they share something in common. Neither of them is ever going to be able to forget the day that they were driven out of their village. It was the day that their mother burned.

Kaija ultimately decides that she is going to go off on her own and pursue an entirely new life. At the same time, Minna is on her own left to tend to her own devices in the forest’s darkness. Minna is outraged and devastated at the betrayal and so she ends up casting a curse meant to punish everyone who took it all from her.

The only thing is that Minna doesn’t realize that doing this may put a deadly series of events into motion. Events that may end up destroying everything that she holds dear and extending even to the life that Kaija has built up. Once the rage of a witch gets going, it appears that regret does not affect it. Minna is about to find out that it is very difficult to take back what has been done.

Unfortunately, at the end of it all, someone may end up burning. But will it be her or someone else? Read this fascinating fantasy in order to find out!

The Peculiar Garden of Harriet Hunt is a 2024 novel by Chelsea Iversen. Publishers Weekly describes it as the ‘sweeping tale of a woman on the edge’. Booklist highly recommends the book, and Historical Novel Society called it an ‘unearthly story’ that ‘flows with an elemental eeriness’.

This is the story of a woman who has to use the magic of the plants that are all around her estate in Victorian London in order to get to the bottom of the dark plots of the men that exist all around her.

When it comes to living, Harriet Hunt is unfortunately all on her own. Her father went missing months ago, and she was left to go through the halls of the Sunnyside house on her own. She has been dealing with a past that she would rather keep buried and does not often go outside of the front gate of her house. Harriet much prefers to stay at home and feel dirt in her hands and the moss that is under her feet.

Harriet has been said to be a little too strange to join popular Victorian society. She doesn’t exactly fit in with the others, but she’s fine with that. This life living on her own suits her and she is happy just knowing that magic is waiting for her in the garden.

There’s something about Harriet’s garden that makes it very special. It’s a wild place that is full of a bunch of plants, such as plums, ivy, and a power that goes through it buzzing like bees. Taking care of this place is her purpose, keeping the garden from spreading like crazy and running wild through the streets of her personal London suburb.

Her father also has disappeared, and she is finding that the suspicion over this event is falling on her. Meanwhile, Harriet gets married to a man who seems very charming. He is the first guy who is able to see past all the peculiar things about her. It’s a move for romance but also for her own protection.

However, it starts to become clear to her after some time that her new spouse may end up being even worse than her father. On top of that, Harriet is starting to realize that she may be very important to a dark plot that has been created by the men that exist around her.

In order to liberate herself and find out the ultimate truth, she is going to have to figure out a way to grasp the various power that her magical garden has to offer. Mesmerizing and feminist, this is a book that builds up its own world and makes for a fantastical modern fairy tale where women empower themselves to take hold of their lives with the assistance of a little magic inside. Read this book to see what happens!
