Daphne Neville is an accomplished author.
She made Cornwall her home all the way back in 1972. She got married in the county and had children. After bringing up her children she worked in the local pub where she first got the inspiration to write The Ringing Bells Inn.
When her debut novel was finalized the author decided to write a sequel titled Polquillick. However, in the end she was not all that happy that the stories covered just two years. She decided to go for the lucky number seven and write five more. Hence the seven books in the Trengillion Mystery Series cover village life in Cornwall that takes place over a span of sixty years, stretching from 1952 to 2012.
She has also written the standalone novella The Old Tile House, which introduces readers to the village on the south coast of West Cornwall, Pentrillick. It also the setting for The Pentrillick Cornish Mystery series, which has nine books available for readers to enjoy.

This is a cozy British mystery that is touched with just a bit of the supernatural. The year is 1952 and the month is February. The country is in mourning after the death of King George VI.
Ned Stanley is on a train leaving London. He’s on his way to Cornwall to convalesce after a bout of glandular fever which zapped all of his energy. He has a room booked at the Ringing Bells Inn which is located on the Lizard Peninsula in the small fishing village of Trengillion on the beautiful south coast of Cornwall.
Ned thinks that his stay at the Ringing Bells Inn is going to be calm and a total contrast to London, where he is employed teaching history at a secondary modern school. However, the old Cornish village contains a guilty secret.
Ned will find himself rapidly committed to resolve an intriguing mystery circling all around the disappearance of Jane Hunt. She was a local girl who worked at the Inn but has not been seen ever since she went missing the previous summer.
