David Klass is an American screenwriter and novelist.
He is known for writing many different novels for young adults. These include You Don’t Know Me, Dark Angel, and Firestorm, which was the first book to come out in The Caretaker Trilogy.
He has been a Hollywood screenwriter who has penned over 25 action screenplays. This extends to Kiss the Girls, which starred Morgan Freeman and Ashley Judd, The Rock’s Walking Tall, and the Michael Keaton and Andy Garcia vehicle Desperate Measures.
The author grew up in a family that had a fondness for theater and literature. Both of his parents were professors in college as well as writers. He actually himself was reluctant to read, as for much of the time he had a preference for sports over books.
However, he started loving adventure stories that his parents would bring home for him from the library. In particular, David very much enjoyed the works of Jack London, Alexandre Dumas, and Robert Louis Stevenson.
When his sister won a story contest twice in Seventeen magazine, the author decided that he wanted to win it too. He accomplished this when he was a senior in high school and published his first story in the magazine, “Ringtoss”.
David studied at Yale University and it was there that he won the Veech Award for best imaginative writing. He resides in New York with his wife and his children. He has also taught English in Japan and centered his first novel The Atami Dragons all around that experience.
Firestorm is the first book in The Caretaker trilogy by David Klass. If you have been looking for a unique and engaging story to read for the summer or any season, check this book out!
Jack didn’t know for a long time that his mother and father were not actually his mother and father. But if he had not broken the high school rushing record on a specific night, he might never have known. In the process nothing would have changed.
He would just continue to be going out for pizza, playing football, and doing his best to get more intimate with P.J., his girlfriend. However, he did end up breaking the record. He ended up appearing on the news. And in the end, they have found him.
Jack has been plunged into a game of survival that bends space and time without any way out. The rules are all covered in secrets, but one thing he manages to figure out is to trust no one at all.
The earth has been abused for centuries and through all of this it is dying. It is up to Jack to reverse the decline before the Turning Point, the point when nothing is ever going to be the same again. Beaten into shape by a ninja babe as well as the best friend of a large telepathic man, Jack flies across the ocean to try and save the future from the present and to try and solve the mystery of his purpose.
Who or what is Firestorm, and what does it have to do with him (Jack)? What is coming next or what can you expect when you find out that all you have ever known and understood is wrong? In the first book of this trilogy, go on a fast-paced adventure of looking for truth while doing everything to survive and stay alive. Pick up this book to go on the adventure for yourself!
Whirlwind is the second book in the Caretaker Trilogy. In the first book, Jack Danielson was only 17 years old but he managed to save the world’s oceans at his own personal cost since his parents ended up being killed and all that he knew or believed in ended up getting turned completely upside down.
Jack has come home so that he can see P.J., who is not only his girlfriend but the only touchstone that he has left. She is missing and the blame falls on Jack. He is now on the run with his canine sidekick Gisco, caught up in a whirlwind (literally) as he makes his way to the heart of darkness to rescue P.J. it will prove to be a journey that brings his face to face with the colonel, the father of his old nemesis, also known as the Dark Lord from the future.
Jack’s quest gets even more complicated as he starts to find out that the only person who can stop the Dark Lord is a time traveler, the wizard Kidah. Unfortunately this is also complicated as the wizard has disappeared in the present. Can he find this person and can he fix everything once and for all? Find out by getting a copy of this heart-racing adventure and see what you think!
