David W. Robinson is a British published author.

He works as an author now but is a former (now retired) hypnotherapist and adult education teacher. He’s always possessed a great sense of humor and thinks of himself as a Yorkshire man who hails from the outskirts of Manchester in Northwest England. There he resides along with his wife and Joe, their Jack Russell Terrier.

David writes cozy mysteries and uses different pen names to write in different genres. His main genre of choice is that of crime and mystery. He released several of his novels with a variety of different publishers. In 2011, he decided to try something new and decided to start self-publishing on Kindle. He put out 15 titles. His Sanford 3rd Age Club Mysteries did very well and in 2012 the first book The Filey Connection was picked up by Crooked Cat Publishing.

David continues to write more titles so whether you’re already a fan of his work or are just getting to know this author, you can rely on more awesome stories coming out from him in the future. David has additionally produced darker thrillers like The Handshaker and Voices, which are intended for an adult reading audience and which take on reality and turn it on its head.

The author likes to work in mystery and crime but also is known for putting out the occasional science fiction or paranormal adventure. Robinson has even released some nonfiction work. For his darker psychological works he uses the pen name of Robert Devine. In addition to writing, he also has his own YouTube channel.

David used to be a part of the rat race but says that he retired when the other rats ‘objected to his participation’. He continues to write and to live with his wife outside of Manchester with the Pennine Moors in sight.

Mrs. Capper’s Christmas is the first book in the Mrs. Capper’s Casebook series by David W. Robinson. If you’re the type who loves a light mystery that you can devour in one sitting or break up into chapters for easy reading, this book is right up your alley. Some mysteries can be very heavy, but this is one that strives to make literary murder fun– and just in time for the holidays.

Christine is a former police officer who is now something of a woman of many hats– she is a blogger, a vlogger (that’s short for ‘video blogger’), and a private investigator. While she used to think that her future would just include arresting people and issuing tickets, now Christine has a greater calling to pursue as a tech-savvy private eye. She doesn’t work for the department now– she’s the one calling the shots.

But as it turns out, her time in working with the police may not be over yet. Her former work colleagues are busy searching for the serial killer in town, known as the Graveyard Poisoner. It has not that much to do with her own case, in fact nearly nothing at all, but what can Christine say? She gets her curiosity aroused easily.

Things start heating up and now Christine is not only interested, she’s invested too. Three more murders go down, a spy camera gets vandalized, library books go missing, one of her favorite shopkeepers lands in the hospital, and she ends up encountering everything from a lazy cat to a husband that is obsessed with cars.

Christine is finding that she’s having a tough time getting anywhere and to make things even worse, she is so caught up in things that she is having a tough time remembering to decorate for Christmas. Mrs. Capper’s Christmas is approaching, but can she find a serial killer to give herself the ultimate gift under the tree? Death at the Wool Fair is the second book in the Mrs. Capper’s Casebook series by David W. Robinson. If you loved the character of Christine Capper and all of her adventures, you’ll definitely want to return for this engaging sequel that sees the return not only of Christine but all of her case-solving skills as she takes on another case.

Haxford is having its annual Wool Fair and the week of its arrival is upon the citizens of the town. For Christine, she’s looking forward to be able to spending some time with her granddaughter. It turns out that she might not have as much time in her schedule for family bonding as she thinks when the owner of a traveling fair calls her up and asks for her assistance.

Francois is the owner of Ketchak’s Funfair, and from the moment that they begin speaking, Christine feels that there is something that is not quite right. He is explaining his situation to the investigator and complaining plenty that he has been sent a death threat. If Christine had any doubts about what he was saying, they quickly go away when Francois gets his brake lines cut.

His family seem to be not all that interested in communicating and Rachel, Gina, Nick, and Ossie Travis all even prove to be obstructive in certain instances. Things do not get better and as time goes on, Christine finds herself wondering just what she has signed up for.

Some cases are pretty straight forward, but with this one, Christine get the sense that she is in for a wild ride. But as she is Haxford’s sole private investigator and has taken the case on already, it’s too late to back out of things now. Can she get to the bottom of all the nonsense and get paid?
