Debra White Smith is an American christian speaker, author, and media personality.

There are over 1 million of her books in print. She is known for writing fictional series as well as advice books such as Romancing Your Husband and Romancing Your Wife.

Debra is a woman of God and has high standards and levels of integrity. She spends hours a week before the Father and staying in tune with Him, listening for His voice in all that she does. Her commitment to the Lord is something that she believes has allowed God to ‘bring about a miracle of deliverance and healing’ in her spirit, mind and soul.

The author attended the University of Texas and graduated with her M.A. in English. She has been voted a reader favorite in fiction many times and her books have been nominated for awards. Her book Romancing Your Husband ended up being a finalist for the 2003 Gold Medallion Awards. Meanwhile, her Austen Series novel First Impressions was picked as a finalist for the 2005 Retailer’s Choice Awards.

She is an in-demand media guest who has made appearances on The 700 Club, Fox TV, USA Radio Network, ABC Radio, and Moody Broadcasting. She enjoys fishing, hunting for bargains, and going swimming with her family, and German chocolate ice cream.

Dr. Debra launched her ministry focus The Wesleyan Woman in 2019. She champions small churches and educates small church pastors and lay leaders while presenting biblical concepts from a Wesleyan perspective. She proclaims the value of women in the ministry and wants to help them be inspired to realize their value and impact. It is reflective of the theology of John Wesley and is not associated with the Wesleyan Church.

She was selected as a writer for the Nazarene Ministerial Course of Study curriculum in 2012. She also co-wrote the course ‘A Celebration of Women in Ministry’. She has written several articles and devotionals and wrote her newspaper column ‘Ask Debra’, where she offered her readers advice by way of biblical wisdom designed to help them in their everyday life. It ran for two years from 2011 to 2013.

She holds a Ph.D. in Educational Leadership and an Ed.S. in Leadership and Organizational Management. She has been ordained as an Elder in 2014 for the Church of the Nazarene. She is married and her husband Daniel is also an Elder. They have served as co-lead pastors for various East Texas small Nazarene churches.

In 2022, she was part of the Vision and Strategy Meetings for the Church of the Nazarene’s USA/Canada region. In 2025 she was honored to give a seminar at the M25 Nazarene conference for pastors. Her writing, humor, and biblical knowledge have all contributed to making her an in-demand conference speaker. These days her speaking centers around being able to educate and equip pastors and lay leaders for small churches, and she frequently speaks at events held by retreats, churches, and women’s ministries.

The author is the president of Debra White Smith Ministries and is also a vice president of a ministry to small churches called The Revitalization Network. She has made many radio and television media appearances and has been a guest on At Home Life, Getting Together, Harvest, His Place, and Midday Connection. She also was the featured relationship specialist on Plain Jane Wisdom, the Fox News radio show.

She has been married to her husband Daniel for over four decades. She is a mother to her two grown children, a son and daughter. She calls them ‘the light of her life’. She enjoys spending time with her cats and puppies as well as shopping and going to movie and theater productions with her family. If she could, she would eat Mexican food for every meal.
