Coming from Alabama, the American romance novelist Ella James writes books with a passionate and steamy edge to them. Early and Personal Life

Born and raised in America, Ella James would grow up with a keen interest in both reading and writing from an early age. Developing her craft and style, she would come to discover her own unique approach to the page, finding her own voice. Over time she would draw in a lot of inspiration, using it to help inspire her, along with using her own experiences as well.

One area of writing that she’d come back to time and time again was that of romance novels, as they would allow her to tell her own stories. In time she would write over twenty novels and counting, as her name would become synonymous with a certain brand of fiction. Currently living in Colorado, she continues to write to this present day, was she lives with her husband and child, with a lot more titles planned on the horizon.

Writing Career

Starting out back in 2011, Ella James would begin her writing career with the novel ‘Stained,’ which would also begin a series of the same name. She would then go on to write the ‘Here Trilogy,’ ‘Love Inc.,’ and the ‘On My Knees Duet’ series, to name just a few other franchises of hers. These series would all help to establish her name before a mainstream worldwide audience, reaching readers far and wide.

Later she would also write alongside other fellow writers as well, such as Kandi Steiner, Alessandra Torre, and Tijan. Creating numerous omnibus editions of her work too, she was a gifted writer with lots to offer through her numerous writing and stories. Maintaining a strong presence both online and off, she continues to write, with lots more books still to come yet.

Exalted

Initially brought out through the Barkley’s Book publishing imprint, this would first come out in 2012 on the 30th of October. Setting up the fourth book in the ‘Stained’ series of novels, it’s best that the books are read in order to get the most from them. While it is aimed at a Young Adult audience, there are adult themes and scenes depicted, with some tougher subject matter dealt with.

Taken hold of by their Celestial captors, Cayne and Julia have been torn apart through their two friends various betrayals. Now it seems that they’re set to be sacrificed in order to see in The Three’s return to power on all, as they find themselves in a struggle for survival. With a Celestial battle set to play out on Earth, everything is at stake, and it seems that they must fight against all odds. Will they be able to manage it, can they both overcome it together, and what will finally become of the exalted?

The story itself makes for a great conclusion to an already thrilling series, as it really delivers on every level. There’s so much to enjoy here, as it definitely takes the reader on a journey, delivering plenty of twists and turns along the way. It’s easy to see why the series has been so successful, from its compelling story to its interesting well written characters who are fully fleshed out at every step.

Communion

Once again published through the Barkley’s Book label, this arrived on the 4th of May in 2021 to an already eager audience. It’s important to read the book series in order, with ‘Worship’ then ‘Adore’ coming first, as this is the third in the ‘On My Knees’ series. The first two books would also be brought together in an omnibus edition, and the series itself is set firmly within the romance genre.

At the center of this are Vance and Luke, as Luke McDowell is a public figure, and Vance can finally say he’s his partner. With the spotlight on them both though, they face a new set of obstacles, while Luke is back at Evermore, trying to lead the life he once had. Trying to block out the past, they hope to build a life together after saying their vows, building a relationship and future on. Will they be able to live happily ever after, can they both overcome the past, and what will finally become of their communion?

It’s a passionate story with two strong male leads driving the relationship forwards, as it captures the highs and lows of their romance in full detail. Making for an engaging story, it really comes alive off of the page, pushing the concept to its full potential throughout. Fans of both the author and of the romance general will definitely find something to enjoy in this work, as it has a lot to offer.
