Emily E K Murdoch is a historical romance writer. She holds a degree in History and English and a master’s in Medieval studies from the University of York.
So far, she has examined a codex and transcribed medieval sermons at the Bodleian Library in Oxford. She also designed a part of an exhibition for the Yorkshire Museum and was a researcher for a BBC documentary.

Emily also worked at Polesden Lacey with National trust. She has written a Medieval series and Regency novella series.

Always the Bridesmaid is the first in the Never the Bride series. Miss Tabitha Chesworth has been walking down the aisle multiple times but not as a bride. Of late, she has become frustrated for being left behind, and there is nothing she can do about it. She’s also tired of people quoting her as always the Bridesmaid, Never the Bride.

She has become a laughing stock in society due to the multiple trips on the aisle. She feels worried until an encounter with the Duke of Axwick. Richard St. Maur is the sixteenth in his line and had sworn never to get married after witnessing the damage it caused to the male Axwick line. He’s also not willing to risk bringing another drunkard or gambler into the world.

Richard was afraid to commit to love after the men in his family showed themselves as drunkards with huge debts. He’s currently handling a hefty debt left behind by his late elder brother, which is why he is the Duke. Richard is bankrupt with a legacy title and feels he has less to live for until he meets Tabitha.
However, that does not mean he would be having some fun, and there is no own he’s willing to interact with more than Miss Tabitha. He wants her so badly, but for her, she’s determined to hold out until he puts a ring on her finger. Tabitha is firm with what she wants, so he will have to marry her first if he wants her.
Tabitha is a wealthy lady; all she wants is someone to love and marry her instead of men wanting her for her money. After meeting her, Richard changed his mind about matrimony and now wants her more than anything else. He wants her for her body, not money, and starts a cat and mouse game.

When their passion and attraction get out of hand, she finally gives in to making love with him after she misunderstands his question, thinks it was a proposal and believes they are engaged. Tabitha thought that he had changed his mind and wanted to marry her. What will happen when she learns the truth?

When things happened, Richard was so angry and thought that Tabitha used him before getting engaged to another man. He confronted her about learning it, and later all the misunderstandings between them came to light.

Always the Bridesmaid is an enjoyable and entertaining story with excellent relationships and chemistry between the lead characters. Their banter and steamy moments will have the reader flipping pages to find out more.

Richard is rude and is determined to wind the Bridesmaid into his bed. The more she resisted, the more he pressured her to give in. On the other hand, Tabitha is gentle and determined that a bed will come after she is married. Even though it might be easy to dislike Richard, you’ll later learn that his behavior has much to do with his awful past.

Tabitha is a smart and outgoing lady, and even though she hasn’t found love yet, she still has her standards to uphold. Fans of historical romances featuring headstrong ladies meeting their match, Always the Bride is the book for you.

Always the Chaperone
Always the Chaperone is the second in the Never the Bride series. Lady Charlotte is a spinster, always invited to dances as a chaperone but not as a dance partner. She had built her personality for herself that everyone knew her as a spinster who could only do anything but tag behind the young ladies of the ton who rely on her. That’s all she can do to hold her tears as match after match is made with her assistance.

Being a lady over 30, she got no title and isn’t lucky when finding love. William Lennox is Mercia’s Duke who never thought he would become famous one day. He has never thought that in his life, there could be something more exhausting than being a soldier.

William had lived only knowing loss and battlefields and lived a life of full man without minding about his reputation when he was major Lennox. Parents are pushing their daughters towards him now that he’s the Duke hoping they might be the duchess of Mercia.

Now he has finally experienced the tiring marriage market since he needs to find a perfect match.
He has met a lot of young ladies, but surprisingly, the Chaperone is the only one who caught his attention. William plans how he will make it to convince her, and Charlotte finds the idea of someone courting her so laughable.

She is so satisfied with her position since she feels there is a minimum she can do to change it, so she doesn’t understand or accept that a man would be interested in her. The soldier is not used to failing and isn’t planning to do it now and knows that seduction is the charm that might work.
