She read modern history at Oxford University and worked for a short amount of time in finance. Fiza then spent twelve more years assisting the bereaved through her work in a position as a complementary therapist.

Today Fiza writes on a full time basis from her home. She is married to her husband who is an American and they have two children together. They all currently reside together in London. Her debut novel is titled The Midnight Carousel.
