Born in 1985 on the 21st of January, Hazel Hayes grew up in Donaghmede, a suburb based in north Dublin, with her older sister and two older brothers. Her interest in reading and writing flourished during her time at Dublin City University, where she earned a Bachelor of Arts in Journalism and served as deputy president of the Student Union.

After university, Hazel took classes at the Irish Writers’ Centre, further developing her storytelling skills. She started her career working at Google and YouTube as a manager before transitioning to create her own content on YouTube.
