Hillary Avis is an American published author. She writes cozy mystery stories about smart women who keep on going until they know the truth, about their communities, about themselves, and about any unsolved murders in the area.

Hillary grew up on a small town in the west coast. She attended college in a small town on the east coast. Now she resides in what she calls ‘beautiful’ Eugene, Oregon.

She has two wonderful children, two naughty dogs, and two practically perfect cats named Mystery and Intrigue. She is married and says that she also has one patient husband. When she is not busy writing, reading, or editing, she likes to bake bread, make pottery, drink coffee, and stream British television shows.

Avis is the author of multiple series, including the Neela Durante Mystery series, the Death Du Jour Mystery series, the Clucks and Clues Cozy Mystery series, and the Magic Library Mystery series of novels.
