Before she wrote books, she spent a full decade in the video game industry. She worked as a designer, a project manager, and a quality assurance tester during those years. She spends time at home with her partner George and their two dogs, and she manages quality assurance projects for Disney’s research and development team. Writing Career

J.D. Astra began her writing career with a contribution to the shared collection Viridian Gate Online: Side Quests in 2018. She then launched her own series, Viridian Gate Online: Firebrand, with three books released in 2019. That same year marked a busy start, as she moved quickly to establish her presence in the genre.

Following that, she released the Zero.Hero series, with the first two books appearing in 2020 and a third installment scheduled for 2026. She also wrote the Bastion Academy trilogy across 2020 and 2021, followed by the Monster Haven trilogy in 2022. Roaming Dungeon
