About Jenna Fischer

Jenna Fischer is an American actor and author known for her role as Pam Beesly in The Office, for which she was nominated for an Emmy Award and won two Screen Actors Guild Awards. After her time on The Office, Fischer starred in ‘You, Me and the Apocalypse,’ a SKY B limited series, and in Reasons to Be Happy, an Off-Broadway play written and directed by Neil LaBute. Most recently, she was part of the cast of Steve Martin’s Meteor Shower, which had a record-breaking run at the Old Globe Theatre.

When it comes to film, Fischer has been involved in many projects. She starred in (and produced) The Giant Mechanical Man, Hall Pass by the Farrelly Brothers, Solitary Man with Michael Douglas, ‘Walk Hard’ which was produced by Judd Apatow, followed by Blades of Glory featuring Will Ferrell. She was also seen in the Mike White feature titled ‘Brad’s Status’ starring alongside Ben Stiller.

Early and Personal Life

Regina Marie ‘Jenna’ Fischer is an American actor and author born on the 7th of March, 1974, in Fort Wayne, Indiana. She moved to St. Louis, Missouri, with her family when she was a young girl, and there began developing her love for acting. At the age of six, she attended a workshop taught by her mother, which was also attended by actor Sean Gunn. Jenna attended Pierremont Elementary School and Nerinx Hall High School, a private all-girls Catholic school, before obtaining a Bachelor of Arts in theater and a minor in journalism from Truman State University.

In 2000, Jenna moved to Los Angeles to further her acting career, and assisted by her friend Sean Gunn getting her a place in a showcase and introducing her to his brother, screenwriter James Gunn. This small part led to Jenna obtaining her first manager, and she married James Gunn in October of 2000. Jenna and James separated in 2007, and divorced in 2008. Jenna then became engaged to screenwriter Lee Kirk in 2009, and they married the following year. In 2011, Jenna gave birth to their first child and their second in 2014.

Jenna is passionate about animal rescue, and she has worked for three years with the Los Angeles-based organizations Kitten Rescue and Rescue Rover. In 2017, Jenna became part of the first season of Houzz TV, surprising her sister Emily Elmore with a renovation of her lounge, kitchen, and dining room in admiration of Emily’s work as a teacher and community-based service worker. Jenna’s passion for her craft and her compassion for others make her a beloved icon.

Writing Career

In November 2017, Jenna Fischer released her first book, ‘The Actor’s Life.’ Two years later, Fischer teamed up with her former ‘The Office’ costar Angela Kinsey to co-host the podcast ‘Office Ladies’ and wrote the book ‘The Office BFFs.’ In 2021, Fischer contributed to ‘Welcome to Dunder Mifflin: The Ultimate Oral History of the Office’ with her fellow Office co-stars.
