The only problem is, she isn’t able to get his body out of her mind and his physique ends up in her dreams. His muscular torso intrigues her so much that Lucy feels that she must put details of what he is like onto the canvas. She has no idea that she is painting who is actually the Duke of Weston. From here on out, things will forever change for her.

Anthony Philby was hoping that he could get away from the legacy of his family and set out to be independent, not just the second son. But when his brother passes, he ends up being called back to the city of London. There he learns that he is inheriting a fortune, but it also comes with some conditions.

Just one scandal and one thing going wrong could ruin everything. It’s in his own best interest to take the painting that has been made of him and burn it. Then he can also go on to pretend that he had never made the acquaintance of this beautiful young artist.

Anthony instead finds that he has landed himself in a situation where he’s exchanging favors. He will work to help save the dressmaking shop owned by her aunt from going under if she will look for Effie, his sister who has gone missing.

The two end up working together and as a result of this, a type of passion occurs between them. However, the search for his sister may put them in dangerous situations that they weren’t expecting. The Runaway Duchess is the second novel in the Duke Undone series by Joanna Lowell. If you like historical romances or you read the first book in this series and loved it, then continue on with all the romantic fun from the past enjoyed in the present and read The Runaway Duchess!

When a bride runs away from her wedding and dumps a duke in the process, she knows that it’s time to start writing her own unique love story. No longer can she rely on something that looks ideal to the outside world to sustain her when she could have true love.

Main character Lavinia Yardley has always been the pretty type, and she has lived a life of privilege where she is constantly pampered. To continue this way of living would obviously be ideal, and stepping up in terms of class would not be a bad idea either. She has always wondered and dreamed of what her life would be like as a duchess.

She didn’t count on her family coming into disgrace. This has led her into getting married to the worst duke in England. Lavinia wants more than anything to find a way out of this match. She is scanning her brain for ideas, but she might not have to think that hard. A stranger ends up thinking that she is Muriel Pendrake, the botanist, at a train station.

Just like that, Lavinia has to choose whether she’s going to follow through with the marriage or take another person’s identity in the hopes of escaping her true fate. Then there’s Neal Traymayne. He’s been well versed in the world of plants, hunting the globe as a young man for plants for Varnham Nursery.

Now Neal is all grown up and runs the nursery. He’s getting ready to find a wife who would be the perfect complement to his family. Just corresponding with Muriel was enough to give him hope that they were ideally matched. But when he meets the woman in person and gets to see her in real life, he can’t help but get the impression that she’s somehow less scientist and more a society woman in identity.

As the two spend more time together, they start to find that they have a natural chemistry. But they also discover a desire between them that is rooted in what is a true love that is unfolding between their eyes. Will it all be ruined when the woman whose identity Lavinia borrowed shows up on the scene? Will Neal be able to accept this woman for who she truly is, having fallen for her authentically? Read this romance to find out whether the two’s happiness and love culminates into something magical and real!
