Jane, The Courageous is the second novel in The Saga of the Phenwick Women by Katheryn Kimbrough, also known as John M. Kimbro! This is a gothic romance that you just cannot miss.
The main character in this story is Jane Munsk. She has always been a lovely young lady and done well for her station in life. When she is taken on by the Phenwick family and adopted by them, they always reminded her that they were giving her a gift and that she should always be grateful to them for it.
She once had nothing, no parents or mother to take care of her. Now she not only belongs to a family, but she gets to have the Phenwick name, and serve as the heiress to the position, power and wealth of the Phenwick family.
It all seemed like a good trade in the beginning, but Jane had no other choice but to be optimistic about things. She couldn’t control that she had lost everything and now was being adopted by this well to do family. All of this had been beyond her control.
Now Jane is starting to realize that the Phenwick doors closing behind her mean that she truly has a new life, and one that is going to take some getting used to. She never understood how precarious her place in life could now be. Here there are many secrets and a lot of violence, and she’s caught up in the hands of the manor’s mistress, who is extremely demanding and tyrannical.
She’s also being held captive by her passion for a man who is both attractive but haunted, who has been her brother but only in name. They are not related whatsoever. He’s been leading her down a dangerous path and might actually end up betraying her passions. Can Jane find true love with a man that she shouldn’t be with? Will she find that it quickly all falls apart? Read this compelling story from John M. Kimbro that will have you turning every single page to find out what really happens!
