Kate Goldbeck is a successful published author.
She grew up in an actual village and when she was younger, she dreamed that she would grow up to live in New York. This is despite the fact that her parents did give her a warning that she should not be expecting the types of apartments on Friends to be available because they were not realistic.
In college, Kate studied film and art history. This pretty much slimmed down all of her prospects for employment, reducing them to film museum. She attended engineering school to earn a master’s degree and since then has designed museum exhibits that have won awards and has put together all types of immersive experiences all over the world.
Kate really likes bantering with her partner, scratching dogs behind the ears, fostering dogs, and falling asleep to the sounds of British audiobook narrators.
You, Again is a 2023 novel by Kate Goldbeck. It was a nominee for a Goodreads Choice Award in the category of Readers’ Favorite Romance. Can Ari and Josh take a break from hating each other for enough time to fall in love with each other?
When someone who is afraid of commitment and a hopeless romantic come together, they find themselves clashing continually. That is, until hearts get broken and the unexpected chemistry that they have end up bringing them together once more in a romance that is a classic enemies to friends to lovers tale!
When Ari meets Josh for the first time, it’s far from love at first sight. The wrong types of sparks are flying between the two of them and they’re not getting all googly eyed over each other at all. It’s an instant feeling between the pair, and that feeling is hate.
Ari is a free spirit, a comedian who like many in her field is struggling, and someone who enjoys keeping things casual. She’ll always take a gig, she sublets, and after she hooks up with someone she never spends the night.
Then there’s Josh. He was born in Manhattan, the same place that he grew up. He has plans that are fairly ambitious. He wants to take on the culinary world, go out and find the perfect girl for him, and make her breakfast in the morning. Josh and Ari have pretty much nothing in common, except for the fact that they are both sleeping with the same woman.
Ari and Josh never thought that their paths would cross once more. But here they are years later and they are both contending with similar things in that they’re dealing with some really heavy breakups. When the two of them come together by chance, it sparks a surprising connection– of friendship. They used to be enemies, but hanging out with a former nemesis can be enjoyable when you’re both too sad to put the energy into contention.
Now the pair are friends without the benefits, and things are going swimmingly. They are able to hang out and do some Netflix binge watching, they go on each other’s online dating profiles and swipe through, and they like to even bicker about whatever they feel like. It’s something that is more than romance, something more intimate and comfortable. But the two are spending so much time together that the lines of their relationship start to blur through.
With many observations going on and an unexpected chemistry between the pair, this book goes through the dynamics of friendship between the sexes to diving into modern love in a contemporary romance that you will absolutely love!
Daddy Issues is a 2025 novel written by Kate Goldbeck. If you love a good romance, then be sure to check this book out and enjoy a nice modern love story that is really sweet.
Love can often show up in the places where it is least expected, including next door. Sam Pulaski is a twenty something who is jaded because she’s stuck living at home, all of her life is on pause, and a single dad has just become her neighbor. But she’s going to continue persevering through and in the process may end up putting her heart and life into motion again.
Sam is 26 years old. At this age, she thought that her academic career would be thriving. She anticipated that she would be living on her own in a city that was really exciting and having a thrilling life. But those were her expectations, and they are far from the reality.
Sam also has to contend with the huge student loans she took on, all to study art history. Her choice of majors mean that she is now in a service industry job that is a complete dead end and going nowhere. She is in a relationship that is more like a situationship, and while it is intoxicating, it also is putting the toxic in intoxicating.
She’s been spending some time crashing with her mother in her condo for the past five years. It’s been long enough for her that she knows she has to do something if she wants things to change. She has the chance to get into a PhD program and finally get out of Ohio, and if she can, Sam might just find that the adult life she has been fantasizing about having and has been put on hold might at last get started.
Then there’s the new neighbor next door to her mom, Nick. He’s a real grownup whose adult life started the second that his daughter Kira, now nine, was born. His main priority is her happiness, especially since he and his mom have gotten divorced. He’ll do anything for her, which extends to giving up his career traveling around the world for something more predictable, such as managing a chain restaurant.
Sam doesn’t think that she’s interested in a guy like this, and she’s not great with kids. But Nick is just one wall over, and he’s tough to avoid. Sam soon notices that he’s confident, too. She can’t believe that they have a connection, but they do, and it’s heating up.
Now Sam is finding herself falling for a guy with a steady and predictable life while hers is practically the exact opposite. Can she fit into his world, or is this just a brief flash in the pan? Read this book to find out!
