The Lake of Lost Girls is a novel from Katherine Greene that is fantastic for any lover of a good thriller story or all things true crime.

This story is told in alternating timelines and uses podcast clips to tell the story of a student gone missing and her sister who is doing anything she can to find some answers.

In 1998, students are going missing. The location is Southern State University in North Carolina, and the students going missing are all female. Jessica Fadley is a freshman enrolled there. She was once a responsible student who was very smart. But she’s going through a lot. Her life seems to be in total turmoil and then she disappears out of nowhere.

Lindsey is Jessica’s sister and she’s looking for answers to find out what happens, twenty-four years after the fact. She decides that she can use Ten Seconds to Vanish, a true crime podcast that is working at the top of the charts, to try and focus on the cold case and help her own investigation take off.

Interest picks up and soon becomes even more intense as bodies from women who have been missing for a long time start turning up from the local lake. This ends up taking Lindsey down a road of discovery. One wants to get through the lies, while the other goes deeper into a darkness that may determine her fate.
