Katy Watson is an accomplished published author.

She grew up in North Wales with a family that had a talent for the arts as many of them were folk singers, tellers of stories, and people who were addicted to murder mysteries.

She is an active reader and a collector of notebooks. Katy once had a dream to put together the two hobbies by becoming an author. Katy spent much of her time when she was a teen reading paperback Christies while on rainy Welsh caravan holidays. It seemed only a matter of time before she tested out writing a crime novel of her own.

It involved over eight years of writing professionally for her to eventually move on to write her first murder mystery. It was titled The Three Dahlias. Once she has gotten started, Katy doesn’t want to stop and has continued the series by writing more followups.

The Three Dahlias is the first book in The Three Dahlias Mysteries by Katy Watson. If you love a good mystery, then be sure to check this book out and see what you think!

Three actresses who are all rivals have teamed up so that they can solve a murder that took place at the home of the very same author who made them famous. But once they get started, they just end up finding out that the solution of it all may be found in the actual stories.

This is a contemporary mystery that has the feel of the Golden Age that will be ideal for you if you are a fan of authors such as Jessica Fellowes or Agatha Christie! There are plenty of people in attendance here. There are the VIP fans who are staying at Aldermere, as well as the fan club president who has been changed into a convention organizer.

There are also the team that can be found behind the latest movie adaptation of Davenport’s books and the Davenport family personally, as well as the three actresses who were famous for portraying the role of Lettice’s thirties detective Dahlia Lively.

There is Rosalind King, who has come from the original movies. Then there’s Caro Hooper, the woman who portrayed Dahlia on television for 13 seasons. There is also Posy Starling, a former child star who has freshly come out of the wilderness of fame as well as rehab in order to take on the role of Dahlia for the new movie.

Every actress there has their own take and unique interpretation of this character and who she is. But on this English summer weekend, they are all going to have to put their differences to the side. Especially as the crimes that have occurred at Aldermere are anything but cozy.

When deaths that are supposed to be fictional end up being turned into real bodies, can the three actresses track down the answers to the murders in the fans, the crew, the family, or the books written by Lettice themselves? Read this book to find out!

A Very Lively Murder is the second book in The Three Dahlias Mysteries by Katy Watson. If you liked the first book in this series, be sure to check out the sequel!

There’s one murder mystery movie, three Dahlias, and enough suspects to make up an entire cast. Posy Starling is a former child star who has at last managed to get her dream role and is playing Dahlia Lively in The Lady Detective movie.

Things are supposed to go well but ultimately take a turn for the worse when a prop weapon is switched out with the real thing. The consequences of this decision end up being nearly fatal for Rosalind King, her fellow Dahlia.

Meanwhile, there is something that has definitely gone wrong on The Lady Detective set. This means that it ultimately is time to call in Caro Hooper, and the three Dahlias are intending on investigating the case.

In the middle of filming scenes, obliging the locals by signing autographs, going on photo shoots taking place in London, doing talk show appearances, and even getting on a jet to France to attend a party, the three actresses take on what they do best, which is sleuthing on the sly.

It doesn’t take too long before all of the evidence starts to show that one of their co-stars is potentially a main suspect. But before the women are able to prove this, the production is rocked by yet another murder. This time, a storm is going on, and the river is flooded with the bridge entirely washed out.

There are no police that there are there to depend on, so it’s just them. The three Dahlias are left now to stop a killer dead in their tracks, and to do so before another victim turns up. Can they get to the bottom of all of this before it’s too late, or are the actresses out of their depth here? Read this book to find out!
