Keira Montclair is the pseudonym of a historical romance and romantic suspense novelist best known for the Clan Grant series of novels. Combining a talent for crafting compelling narratives with Scottish history, Montclair has become one of the most popular novelists in the romance genre. While Keira is a pseudonym the author asserts on her pseudonymous website that she got her name from her mother’s childhood. She also asserts that she has always been passionate about contemporary and historical novels that come with emotional and fast-paced romance with children as the secondary characters. However, as an adult, she took a very different direction rather than become an author. Before she became a bestselling novelist, she worked as a registered nurse working in recovery room nursing and pediatrics. Keira has also said that she loves teaching and has at some point taught practical nursing and high school mathematics. But she would then combine the experience and knowledge from teaching and nursing into her storytelling.
Keira Montclair’s extensive body of work has more than sixty titles across more than nine series and contributions to series by other authors. The Clan Grant series, which is her most popular is all about the loves and lives of two medieval-era Scottish clans, which we follow across three decades. The debut of the series was the 2013 published novel Rescued By A Highlander, which set the stage for a rich historical saga full of romance. Besides the Clan Grant series, Keira is also the author of other series such as the Clans of Mull, and The Highland Clan among others, all of which are loosely interconnected. Each series goes deeper into her Medieval Scottish world, as it explores the romances and adventures of the relatives and descendants of the Grant clan.
Known for her commitment to her work, Keira Montclair has adopted a very disciplined approach to her writing. Her day usually begins with taking care of pressing business matters such as posting on social media and correspondence before she sits down to write. She usually targets 3000 words each day and it is only when she hits her word count that she moves on to other things. Since Keira self-publishes, she is also involved in a variety of tasks such as cover design, editing, and advertising, which is what she does once she is done writing. Beyond her writing, Montclair loves to spend time with her family particularly her grandchildren. Together with her husband, Keira Montclair makes her home in South Carolina where she writes all her novels. She loves puzzles, mathematics, ballet, and learning new things. She usually thinks she has done a good job when she reads about readers shedding tears over her stories.
Keira Montclair’s first novel Rescued by a Highlander tells the stories of an abused woman and a fierce highlander. Madeline Macdonald has had it tough in life, as she is regularly beaten by Kenneth her stepbrother. He kicks her, beats her with his fists, whips her back, and burns her breasts with a hot iron. But even worse, he has pledged her hand in marriage to a man even more evil than he is. The brute he wants her to marry rapes her to make her comply to his wishes, until fate brings Alexander Grant the laird to her. After dining with Kenneth, Alexander starts to walk the halls and stumbles upon a severely injured and bruised Madeline on a pallet. With Brodie his brother, Alexander rescues her from Kenneth and takes her to his castle. But what he never realizes is that once he takes her home, his heart will forever belong to her. All he wants is to exact revenge, even as he makes the iron-willed but sweet woman his. Things are made even more difficult by the fact that she is still fighting demons from the abuse she has faced.
Healing a Highlander’s Heart is a fun and interesting read by Keira Montclair with an engaging story and impeccable wriitng. This is the story of Brenna Grant, a healer who has the worst night when she is kidnapped at knifepoint and taken across the Highlands. She is expected to heal a chieftain whose life is hanging on a thread, but she never thought her patient would be a handsome lord who would steal her heart. Unable to deny the man or anyone who needs her to heal them, she travels to his lands to treat the mysterious patient. Quade Ramsay woke up to find a beautiful woman at the side of his bed. He cannot help but feel intensely attracted to the beautiful healer who saved his life. However, he believes he has a family curse and has vowed to never fall in love hence he tries to fight his feelings. But Brenna might just be the woman who can save his young and ailing daughter, if only he lets her mend his own broken heart. But it is not going to be so easy to do.
Keira Montclair’s third novel in the Love Letters from Largs, is a beautifully written love story full of emotions and heartfelt moments. It tells the story of Celestina and Brodie, who will do anything to be together, even though everyone around them wants them separated. After two years of dealing with her father’s abuse and cruelty, Celestina Lunde would rather commit suicide than be forced into an arranged marriage with a man who is just as cruel as her father. But just as she was about to jump out of her tower bedroom to her death, a muscular Highland warrior arrived at the castle and changes everything. The man is on his way to the royal castle of the King where he has been summoned, and passed by the Lunde castle for refreshments. His mind was on the upcoming battle with the Norse but when he saw Celestina the breathtaking beauty perched on the ledge, he just had to turn around. He intended to save the lovely woman but once he touches her, there is no one and nothing else he can think of.
