Kristin Holt is an inspirational and historical romance fiction author who has said that there is nothing she likes better than writing and reading sweet romances.

However, the one thing that differentiates her fiction work from those of her contemporaries is that she sets hers in the American West during the Victorian times of the 19th century.
As such, she will treat you to small-town romances, the Old West, posses, mining towns, marshals, ranches, bandits, farms, lady doctors, dairies, lady lawyers, and mail orders brides.
Outside of her writing, she has four adult kids none of which has deemed her worthy of a grandchild even though there is nothing she wants more.

She has been married to her husband whom she met in high school and married when she was 21 for more than three decades now.

While she has now achieved a lot of success as an author, she is a Certified Childbirth Educator and Registered Nurse specializing in Delivery and Labor.
She no longer works in medicine but still has an active license, even if she prefers working as an author.

Unlike many of her contemporaries, Kristin Holt never knew that she had been born or called to write.

Still, she used to enter all manner of writing contests while she was in middle school and high school and even got a placement in a poetry contest. In fact, her mother still has several mementos from that time that she keeps in a hardbound cover.
Her love for storytelling and reading was born from the fact that her parents loved to regularly read to her the likes of Madeline L’Engle’s “A Wrinkle in Time” and Florence Laughlin’s “The Little Leftover Witch.”
It was from this that she developed a love for history and the many memorable events in the history of the US.

Kristin would then gravitate toward historical romances which she used to learn history as she did not like the AP History classes taught in high school.
Ultimately, she went to college but did not think that she could make a career in writing. She would study nursing and become a Registered Nurse.
Holt would then spend several years working as a delivery nurse before she decided to pursue her dream of becoming a fiction author.

It was during her time working as a nurse that Kirstin Holt felt that she needed to pen her own fiction works. During the many years of reading romances, she had found many friends that were just as interested in writing.
Encouraging each other, they joined critique groups, took part in writing classes from writers that had made it, and spent hours learning how to write and publish.

Since fiction books had often provided some positive impact on Holt right from her youth, she felt that God had granted her a message she needed to deliver. Right about the time her last kid was born, she decided to get started writing.
As a mother of three daughters, she wanted to write works of fiction that would not only provide inspiration to her daughters but also guide them when it came to romantic love.

She published Home for Christmas her first novel and the debut novel of the Holidays in Mountain Home series in 2013 and has never looked back since.

He had not been in any kind of hurry until a man named August Rose who was her former boyfriend from her youth comes to Mountain Home.

It is a well-told story in a wintery setting that provides the perfect Christmas feeling.
