Kumo Kagyu is well versed in many genres like tabletop RPGs, historical dramas, movies, and gamebooks and he will often incorporate them into his own works.

While writing his “Goblin Slayer” series, he was influenced by American hard boiled novels and comics.

The first time that he submitted “Gobsure” was to Fujimi Shobo’s Fantasia Grand Prize, however it got rejected in the third round. But Kumo figured that if his first full length novel was able to go even this far, he had a chance to get published. So he wrote another book.

He’d written one book before this, however it did not win the prize, so the third one he wrote, which was “Ujima”.

While his reputation continues to spread, this quest comes in from none other than the Supreme God’s own archbishop: the Sword Maiden, who is the Gold-ranked adventurer renowned for defeating a Demon Lord.

The former hero brings this report of goblins under the flourishing and peaceful water town, followed by this plea for a Goblin Slayer and his companions to investigate, since nobody else will.

“Goblin Slayer Volume 7” is the seventh light novel in the “Goblin Slayer” series and was released in 2018. After High Elf Archer got invited to this wedding back in her home village, the party heads out to the forest of the elves, and joining them on this trip of theirs are Guild Girl and Cow Girl. Goblin Slayer and his crew are long overdue to take a vacation, and what better possible place could there be for rest and relaxation than under the brilliant forest canopy?

However things soon take an unexpected turn once they go upriver for the elf homeland just to see the shadows of the goblins lurking. And what is more, there is still talk of this ancient beast slumbering inside the forest. With all of this danger so near at hand, is there even going to be a wedding for our heroes to celebrate?
