About Laura Beers

The American romance writer Laura Beers is well known and equally well regarded for her historical fiction. Writing with a great deal of accuracy, paying close attention to detail, she really understands the genre fully that she’s writing within. Also known for being versatile too, many of her novels inflect a paranormal edge to them as well, as she brings in a variety of different elements to create her own unique style. Many of her books are known for being uplifting, too, as she never forgets to entertain the reader either, really delivering on every level.

Hugely successful with readers from across the world, she’s fast become a bestselling sensation with audiences far and wide. This success is largely due to the relatable style that really allows her to truly resonate with readers, regardless of where they’re from. Creating rich and colorful worlds, she allows the reader to really immerse themselves in the many stories that she writes. This unique approach of hers also ensures that her readers return time and time again, as her following continues to grow every day.

Her characters are also unique as well, with many of them shining from the page, as she creates fully developed three-dimensional personalities. Early and Personal Life

Born and raised in San Diego, America, Laura Beers would grow up with a keen passion for the written word that she’d nurture over time. Focusing on her love of history and romance, she would continue to develop her craft over time, finding her own voice in the process. Nurturing and refining her approach, she would further establish her approach throughout her higher education as well.

Attending Brigham University, she would go on to receive a Bachelor of Science degree based in Construction Management. Later, following much encouragement from her family, she would return to writing full-time again, becoming a novelist herself. Currently living in South Carolina, she continues to work to this present day, as she carries on writing regularly and consistently.

Writing Career

The first book Laura Beers would write was titled ‘Saving Shadow,’ which came out back in 2017, marking her big literary debut. This novel would also begin the ‘Beckett Files’ series of novels, all featuring historical stories of espionage and romance. She would also later go on to create a number of other similar series, including ‘Spy Lawkeeper Romance’ and ‘Regency Spies and Secrets,’ to name just a few.

Many of her other series would also use the Regency romance template, seeing her become hugely popular worldwide. Over time she has also contributed to various other series, such as the ‘Twickenham Time Travel Romance’ collection, writing alongside other authors. Maintaining a consistent profile both offline and on, she continues to write as her writing career builds from strength to strength.

The Unfortunate Debutante

Originally released through the ‘Phase Publishing’ label, this would first come out on the 1st of October back in 2019. It would also mark the seventh title in ‘The Beckett Files’ series of Regency romance and espionage novels, with it closing the series as a whole. Featuring a self-contained story, they don’t necessarily need to be read in order, but there’s plenty for returning fans to enjoy as well.

As the ward for the Marquess of Downshire, Miss Emma Pearson has come out on top following the heroics of her brother, but all that changes following accidents finishing her Season early. Then the Viscount of Wentworth Simeon Martin reluctantly helps, as he otherwise works as a Bow Street Runner dealing with crimes. That’s when the two of them are caught up in the Anti-Corn Law movement, taking them on a journey as they find danger lurking around every corner. Can Simeon keep Emma safe from her jilted suitor, where will their journey take them both, and what will become of the unfortunate debutante?

There are so many exciting twists and turns here that the reader is left never knowing just what to expect at the next turn of the page. Close attention is paid to detail as well, making it feel all the more authentic and real, with there being plenty of research on behalf of the author. The story itself is well told, too, as it finishes what’s been a fun and highly engaging series with lots to offer fans of the genre and newcomers alike.

A Foolish Game

First published on the 4th of August in 2020, this would be the fifth title in the ongoing ‘Regency Brides: A Promise of Love’ series. Providing another historical Regency romance novel, it shows Beers doing what she does best as an author of contemporary romance novels. Following on thematically from the previous novels, it continues in a similar vein to what came before, with this being initially published on the Kindle platform.

With so many restrictions placed upon her by society, Lady Isabella Beauchamp is determined to prove that she can be so much more than a spinster. In love with her ever since they were children, Lord Ewin Colborne has been attempting to court her for years, but she only seems to hold contempt for him. Tasked with finding her a suitor by her brother, Isabella provides him with a list of seemingly impossible demands, leading to Ewin attempting to prove he’s the one. Will he be able to show he’s really the one for her, though, can he prove his love, and is he really playing a foolish game?

The book itself is extremely witty, with plenty of humor and heart throughout, coupled with engagingly written characters. There are lots of intriguing elements once again, too, making for a more than compelling story that continues to surprise with every page turn. Its historical setting is also well-realized, bringing the era to full life with great attention to detail once more.
