The story introduces Darcy Wilde, a librarian based in Atlanta who has lived a finer life away from her football obsessed town where she was raised. But when her grandmother requires her help, Darcy heads back to her childhood home and back to the past that she thought she had left behind.

Then there is Robbie Dalton, the man who knows a thing or two about the painful pasts. After spending his life in foster care and the army for several years, he is at last ready to move on with his life and start a home for himself in Falcon, Alabama as a football coach. Sparks of passion fly when the handsome and charming football coach meets the beautiful librarian, but unfortunately, neither of them is ready to make ties.

However, things change when Darcy falls in love not only with the protective, gruff and sexy man who is sharing her nights and days but also with the complex culture of people who live in Falcon. Is this the place where she belongs? If yes, who is the man destined to be with her? Her librarian grandmother Ada raised her, she went to Atlanta to study get her college degree and find work. But when her 85-year old grandmother breaks her hips Darcy has to return to her childhood home to take care of her grand mom.

The new high school coach Robbie had served with Darcy’s cousin Logan oversees and he is not going to leave her alone. The two, (Robbie and Darcie) are wary individuals and have their insecurities but still, find themselves drawn to each other. If only Robbie could open up his heart and Darcy decides where she feels home, then the two could get more than they had bargained for out of this small town.

The author does an excellent job of developing Robbie and Darcy as characters and letting the readers have a chance of getting to know them than they know each other. The two characters have a lot going on and seeing how they handle their relationship and other obligations will make you like them even more. Besides the main characters, there are also secondary characters which drive the story along including the town of Falcon itself. While this story revolves around the romance that exists between Robbie and Darcy, there are also other themes about relationships spices throughout the novel. For instance, there a community, mentors, friends, and family relationship that develop and have an impact on our hero and the heroine of this story. Slow and Steady Rush is a delightfully sweet, spicy romance between two people who never thought that they could find a place to fit in the society.

Caught Up in the Romance

Caught Up in the Romance is the second series installment in Falcon Football series by Laura Trentham. It is a beautiful contemporary romance. The story introduces Jessica, a shrewd business woman and her high heels and power suits are her daily norm as she works for her father who also gives her pokes that lower her self-esteem. However, despite all this, Jessica hides her feelings because she wants to rise to the top of her dad’s company.

She is experienced and dedicated to whatever she does. Jessica’s father, Montgomery is surrounded by “yes men, ” but Logan proves to be a “no man” when he is requested to work for the Montgomery and run a flagship restaurant. But to get Logan into the company, Jessica’s father sends Jessica to Logan’s home in Alabama to convince the man to work for them by all means.

For Jessica, she treats this request by her father as a mission. Logan is a hometown boy, and when he was a teenager he was rebellious, but after joining the army, he matured and changed his rebellious ways. He is now operating a restaurant in his hometown where he is concerned with all the cooking. He is also a coach for the local high school football team. Logan lives his solitary life and doesn’t want anything else but then Jessica comes into it.

When Jessica first meets Logan, she has no clue of who he is. But Logan had gone through a rough morning and is dirty and exhausted. When they get to know each other Jessica convinces the man to take her father offers but Logan is not a person who is easily convinced but likes having Jessica around. To him, she is “Jessie” and is always turned on by her high heels and her long legs.

The two bond with each other, flirt together and their attraction grows stronger to the point that Jessica wants only to leave her past behind and start a new life with this charming man in his backwater town. However there are major obstacles for these two lovebirds, Jessica father wants to win and has the card that’s required to win. Logan is also dealing with a steroid problem amongst his team he has been training.

Furthermore, will Jessica forget everything that she has lived to build for the sake of love? Caught Up in the Touch is a great love story with interesting and intriguing characters. Besides the main plot, the author has made some addition of subplots of drug abuse and the use of steroids in high school sports that add taste to this story. If you like contemporary romance novels, then Falcon Football by Laura Trentham is a great series for you.
