Laurie is the founder as well as the CEO and president of Art-Z Graphics. She has been awarded the Founders Live Girl Power Award. She has also been named one of the top five women entrepreneurs in the Northeast area.

The author has always been active in terms of serving her community. She runs her Kindness Program, which runs a school program that teaches children about how not to bully and about special needs. She set up the Funny Farm Animal Rescue in 2001 in New Jersey outside Mays Landing. She continues to work on her mother’s goal of being able to save animals that have been neglected and abused.
