After his first novel, which was published with the title of “Transplant” (which was released in the year 1980), was successful with both critics and readers alike his career as a novelist was born. The idea for the story of “Transplant” came from his clinical interest in different blood disorders. The red blood cells were O-Rh null, meaning they were lacking in A, B, and Rh factors.

He is from the city of Charleston, Virginia (by hearing the accent he speaks with, you will know that he really is) and has lived in California for a long time, spending time in Los Angeles and on an island near South Carolina. He was born in the year 1936.

She gets thrown into a web of lies and danger that puts her up against a killer that may be her own boss.

Some tried to figure out who the killer was, who was not revealed until the end, and were wrong about the killer. “A Deadly Practice” is the second novel in the “Joanna Blalock” series and was released in the year 1994. Joanna is now looking for a doctor that is killing doctors.

The novel was written in such a way that made it near impossible to figure out who the killer was. It is a top shelf read from the medical thriller genre.

“Deadly Care” is the third novel in the “Joanna Blalock” series and was released in the year 1996. The man has no fingerprints and no face. What is his name? And who killed him so brutally? Why have so many bone marrow patients died without a visible cause of death?

Joanna is plagued by these questions and more while she tries to put the faceless man’s face together with computers and guesswork. She is finally able to figure out the man’s identity and there is a link between him and the other deceased patients.

There is something very wrong here. With the help of Jake Sinclair (homicide investigator and an old lover of Joanna’s) she is able to put the clues together. They pile up and start pointing in all kinds of directions for her. The once great hospital is now full of scandal and suspicion; everyone seems to have something that they want to keep hidden.
